London tawnship
gets grant for
rec facilities
Doug Reycraft, MPP for Mid-
dleseic, has announced on behalf of the
Honourable John Eakins, Minister of
T+otirism and Recreation, that $70,885
has been awarded to the township of
London under the capital grant for
new recreational facilities program.
This program is designed to support •
the development of well-planned, ac-
cessible facilities, so that recreational
activities are enhanced.
This grant will assist the Township
of London in the construction of a
community and recreation centre in
the hamlet of Bryanston. "The com-
munity centre will service a large
area of London Township that has not
had the benefit of such a facility,"
Reycraft said.
Reycraft added that "the site of the
Bryanston community and recreation
centre is central to the Township and
convenient for all in the surrounding
area. The facility will provide ade-
quate accommodation for those
organizations which' are unable to
function in the small confines provid-
ed by the old school which is present-
ly being used. Not only will the cen-
tre be a meeting place for existing
organizations, but it will also provide
a community focal point."
"I congratulate the Township of
London for undertaking this project"
said Reycraft. "I am very excited and
proud of the initiative and hard work
that the Township of London has
demonstrated in their efforts to make
the Bryanston Community and
Recreation Centre a reality. I am
pleased that the Minisry of Tourism
and Recreation has supported this
project by awarding the Township of
London a Wintario Capital Grant."
