The devotion time of the Hibbert
United Church Women's November
meeting centered about a Remem-
brance Day theme and was conducted
by Verle Mahon and Jay Dearing with
the assistance of several readers.
Business, with Margaret Daynard
as chairman, included, besides the
minutes and report and cor-
respondence, a memo to continue sav-
ing used stamps, a reminder of new
materials at the resource centre, and
also of bringing in any pennies for
Zaire by the next meeting.
Other items discussed were,
Christmas•poinsettias and the usual
birthday cake to be purchased, as
well as remembrance for members of
the church community.
A committee was appointed to pur-
chase new curtains and a donation
was made to the stewards. A slate of
nominations for the coming year was
read and approved.
The December meeting is to in-
clude a "potluck" program and a
cookie exchange. Following the dos-
ing, a social time, with hostesses
Dorothy Dow and Pat McKinnon was
greatly enjoyed by all.
Personals -
Joanne Donovan and Matthew,
Campbellville visited on the weekend
with John and Roberta Templeman
and family.
Doris Miller visited on the weekend
with Dianne Young and Rick, St.
Marys.
Cindy Miller, the Avon represen-
tative for the area held a Christmas
open house, for her customers, Mon-
day evening.
Play euchre
at Centralia

The regular euchre in the com-
munity centre was well attended with
14 tables playing.
Prize winners were: High Score -
Mary Kooy, Earl Morgan; Lone
Hands - Janet Hicks, Tom Kooy; Low
score - Alita Hill, Charlie Rollings;
Lucky score - Kay Armstrong, Ron
Fahner.
The next euchre on December 1 will
be convened by Frank and Janet
Hicks, Pat Rimmer and Brenda
Morgan. •
Mrs. Vol) Overholt enjoyed Sunday
dinner with Mr. and Mrs. Tom Hayter
and Justin of Dashwood.
Mr. and Mrs. S. Koning, Aylmer
were Wednesday dinner guests with
Tom and I and Carol Mills and Kay
Tripp were Friday luncheon guests.
Reverend Gordon Kurtz of Bayfield
was the guest speaker at the United
Church, Sunday. Services next Sun-
day at 11:15 will again be conducted
by Reverend Kurtz.
