"Old Fort Gibson"
November 12, 1986
Dear Editor:
Exeter can be proud of Bruce Shaw,
his teachers and the students who
presented an excellent Armistice Day
programme, at the high school the
morning of 11, November /86.
It was a privilege to attend. If the
same type of ceremony is planned for
next year the towns folk and in-
terested citizens should be notified so
they can be there.
The student body witnessed a mov-
ing display of World War I documen-
tary film, nostalgic and moderrf
music, an enthusiastic choir, and the
reading aloud of World War I Exe r
"TA" news items from 1915 to 1 7
and homesick letters from Ex er
boys serving in France. The students
taking part spoke to a hushee/ au-
dience, who will likely remembet that

Thank you
When the fire siren sounds and the firemen
and engines race through out community,
thoughts run through out minds as to what is
happening.
On Friday evening, November 14th as the
store filled with smoke we at Dinney Furniture
watched on as our hearts pounded and our
adrenalin flowed.
Exeter's firemen were organized, efficient,
calm and in short, most Orofessional. We are
very proud of them and glad that they are pro-
tecting our community. There is no question
that they are second to none.
We take this opportunity to say thankyou
to the Chief and the members of the Exeter
Fire Department.
Also thankyou to Sergeant Kevin Short for
reporting the second outbreak and Jim Darling
Of Darling's IGA for supplying sandwiches and
donuts and to all of our friends who offered
help.
.Your kindnesses are very much
appreciated.

Most sincerely, . '.
