The sermon was entitled "To Wht End?" Well over half of the populi tion of North America was born afte the Second World War. This causes u to have a different perception of wa from those who are older. WI perceive was to be a needless war of human talents, ima:ination energy and life. But that is the con- sciousness of a young North America. a person such as Adolph Hitler - some even emulate his ideas, today, in the mistaken notion he represented freedom from oppression. In the last 72 hours I have been one of the many shocked to learn the United States government may have agreed to send arms to Iran in return for the freedom of Americans held hostage in Lebanon. If this is true then we see North Americans fuelling a war fought on both sides by children often between the ages 10 and 12 years... a kind of blood bath which is completely alien to us; or is it? In actual fact there is war in North Amercia - but we fail to talk about it - it somehow desn't include us and yet we do feel the wars impact on our in- surance premiums.
