Successful St.
Thanks to everyone who helped at
the C.W.L. bazaar on Saturday for
their time and donations on all the
various tables. Total profit was $1,961.
Special thanks to all the merchants
who donated articles for the draws.
There were several winners on the
penny sale table also the quilt went to
Linda Regier, decorated cake.- Rose -
Ann Overholt; fruit basket - Mary
Jacobs and baby afghan - Erin
Pennings.
Next meeting will be on Tuesday,
November 18 after the 7:30 mass.
Father Mooney will be speaking on
the "Last Rites of the Church".

Cable T.V. will aeon be in Zurich.
Boniface
Last Thursday interested residents
went to the Community Centre to find
out all about it and its rates. It is be-
ing put in by Mitchell and Seaforth
Cable T.V. Ltd.
K of C Dance
The Knights of Columbus from St.
Boniface council will be holding a
"Harvest Dance" at the Zurich Arena
on Saturday. November 22 at 9:00
p.m. Admission is only $7.00 a couple
with lunch. If interested phone, Doug
DeBus or and K of C member.

Agriculture was the topic at the
November WI meeting. Agnes Regier

Bridget Groot spoke on present day
farming including dairy.
Guest speaker was Heather Klopp
whose husband Paul is president of
Huron County Confederation of
Agriculture. She said most family
farms are a thing of the past. They
are either sold to strangers, a big cor-
poration or seized by the bank. Young
people cannot afford the high price of
machinery.
The highlight of the evening was
• music by Mozart and Martin Gelinas
one number being the Dusty Old
Farmer.
During the business conducted by
president Joan Smith a motion, was
carried to send $50.00 to Family and
Children's Services. The next meeting
will be a dinner at the hotel.
Fashion Show
Everyone is invited to .a Fashion
Show at the Town hall on Thursday,
November 20 at 8:00 p.m. titled "Laz-
Ease" fashions by Nancy, which is
being sponsored by the Women's In-
stitute. A donation at the door will be
accepted.
Highest Score
The highest game ever bowled at
the Zurich lanes was 425 by Sandra
Dickert on the ladies team, last
month. Congratulations!
Real Community Spirit
It was really nice to see how all the
friends and neighbours of Sharon
Durand came out to help do all the
ploughing for her. Thirteen men
ploughed 150 acres in just four hours.
I'm sure she really appreciated their
time, hard work and thoughtfulness!
St. Peter's C.W.L.
St. Peter's C.W.L., St. Joseph, held
their regular monthly meeting on
November 3 with a good attendance.
They are planning to have another
parish wine and cheese party on Sun-
day, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. and 40
hours are taking place November 16,
17 and 18 with Father Ted Colleton, a
well-known pro-life priest.
Part II of the video "Drug and
Alcohol Abuse" was shown and en-
joyed by all after which Father
Bensette spoke briefly on the need of
getting involved as parents to help
those children who need professional
and family help.
Father also encouraged the ladies
to remind their neighbours and
friends in the parish of the need for
special devotion during the forty
hours to the Holy Eucharist.
Surprise BIrthday
Congratulations to Mrs. Alma
Witmer of the Spruce Villa Apts. who
celebrated her 85th birthday on Sun-
day with a surprise cake and visitors
Nora Corriveau and Father Mooney.
A few friends called in during the
week with a cake and ice-crearri, Her
daughter, Mary -Lou and Roger Foley
of London visited her on Saturday.
Changes About Town
Lately there have been a few
newcomers to some of our town
businesses. We hope they enjoy our I
little village.
Welcome to Dr. Ross Caslick who
recently joined the staff at the
Veterinary Clinic to Dr. Garnet
Leitch, now living in Sarnia.
At the liquor store since summer is
Harold Green of Grand Bend replac-
ing Phil Overholt who is now the
manager in Exeter.
Personals
Mrs. Ina Neeb of the Spruce Villa
Apts. spent a few days this past week
visiting with her brother in Tavistock.
A family dinner and confirmation
celebration was held at the home of
Jerome and Helene Ducharme on
Saturday, November 8 in honor of
their son, Robbie; included were his
god -parents, Matthew and Martha
Ducharme, R.R. 2, Zurich, sponsors
Jerry and Rose Van Bruaene of
Grand Bend, and his grandma, Viola
Ducharme of London, along with his
uncle Dennis Ducharme and friend
Lisa from Kingsville.
Tony and Madeline Wisser of the
Maple Wood Apts. returned home on
Saturday after spending a month's
holiday in North Carolina with their
daughter, Irene and Larry Shaw and
family.

As of this morning, I haven't notic-
ed any snowflakes, but will we be
lucky enough to escape them this time
around?
Monday evening was the beginning
of our movie program for the winter
montls. The movies shown were
"Ponies" and "Music Box" with
Laurel and Hardy.
The November birthday party was
held on Tuesday, sponsored by the
Crediton Women's Institute.
Residents having birthdays during
the month of November were Peter
Deichert, Phillip Eisenbach and Mrs.
Ftuth Taylor, who received gifts,
(courtesy of the Ladies Auxiliary.
Following a very enjoyable program,
refreshments were served by the
ladies of Crediton Institute assisted by
the Ladies Auxiliary of the Blue
Water Rest Ilome who held the
business part of their meeting follow-
ing the Crediton Institute's program
and refreshments.
Residents who were out visiting
during the week were Mrs. Fern
Love, Loftus Denomme, Hazel Steb-
bins, Violet Huntley, Eileen Ge-
meinhardt, Aaron Gingerich, Fred
Teeter, Mary Gerber, Genevieve
Ducharme and Aaron Gingerich.
We appreciate the donation of two
beautiful large plants from Mr. Quim-
by Hess, also some beautiful flower-
ing plants and hanging plants from
Mrs. Irene Wassman. We regret she
will be moving from our midst in the
future.
Bingo was playrd on F'riday even-
ing, followed by refreshments.
The Sunday evening chapel service
wig conducted by Rev. Kenneth
Knight of Hensall and Exeter
Presbyterian churches.

happy weaning anniversary to
Steve and Janet Durand on Sunday,
November 9 and Bill and Brenda
DeGroot last Thursday, November 6.
The two sisters and their families
celebrated together with dinner at
Hessenland on Saturday.
A few C.W.L. ladies met at the
home of Donna Dawe last Thursday
night to try out for a play titled
"Three Bright Girls" which is a
mystery comedy, three act play we'll
be putting on next spring. Talk to
Donna if you'd like to help with it.
Dr. Wallace is now back to work at
his office after a well-deserved rest
and two week holiday.
Dave and Marie Gelinas had a nice
relaxing vacation while away last
week. Theresa Hartman, along with
Mr. and Mrs. Blaise Ducharme and
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Papineau, en-
joyed spending a day touring around
to different places of interest. Theresa
also attended the birthday party of
great grandson Brandon Overholt
(son of Mike and Charlene) and the
recent baptism of Claire Hartman ,
daughter of Tom and Jashia of Acton.
Its nice to see Juliette Denomme
back home again after spending two
and half weeks visiting with her
daughter, Yvonne and Michael Hart-
man near Toronto and another
daughter in London.
A few ladies from town enjoyed go-
ing to the bazaar in M

last Tuesday evening. Several ladies
attended the turkey supper at the
United Church in Grand Bend last
Wednesday and said it was just
delicious.
Carolyn Stark and two daughters
from Windsor spent from Friday to
Sunday in town visiting with her dad,
Keith Thiel and mother-in-law,
Therese Stark.
Happy 14th birthday to Frank Ihrig
on Friday, November 7. And Patty -
Ann Dickert who was 13 -years -old on
November 12.
The children at St. Boniface School
enjoyed the visit of an exchange stu-
dent from Paris last Wednesday
along with student Tim Long from
S.H.D.II.S. in Exeter.
