IrIsIi get two wins, remain in second
The Lucan Irish scored two vic-
tories in three starts this week in the
OHA Western Junior "D" south
TEAM CIRCUS
After an unsuccessful weekend of
racing in October and a few weeks of
further testing Hully Gully's Team
Circus is starting to get their new
liquid -cooled Yamaha Exciter
somewhat on track.
At Hull), Gully's Yamafest over the
weekend the team managed to claim
a second place finish in B -Improved
Stock, a third in A -Improved Stock
and a third overall in Pro Stock.
The Team plans on going to New
York State for one more grass drag
before setting up for winter oval rac-
ing. Winter drags will be held at Hul-
ly Gully on December 14.
SHUFFLEBOARD
In Tuesday's regular shuffleboard
competition, Steven Hrapchak was
tops for the mein with a score of 348
followed by Ernie Chipchase 326 and
Ross Richardson 324.
Pearl McKnight recorded the best
ladies score at 325. Next came Bea
Ballantyne 288 and Beatrice Richard-
son 268.
Charlie Hendy's 308 was best for the
men on Wednesday with Marshall
Dearing at 281 and Ross Richardson
262. Pearl McKnight was again best
for the ladies with a score of 308
followed by Beatrice Richardson 289
and Mildred Thomson 278.
Thursday, Olive Essery hit 438 for
the best ladies score with Olga Davis
next at 393. For the men John Eberle
scored 429, Phil Hern 417, Ross
Richardson 379 and Walter Davis 366.

FREE SKATING

On Wednesday, November 26, we
have another "PD Day Special" lin-
ed up for area youngsters.
Due to the large attendance we've
been getting for our FREE SKATES,
we're going to try something a little
different.
FREE skate for youngsters seven
years of age or under or inexperienc-
ed older skaters will be on the ice
from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Those eight years
and older or experienced skaters are
to skate from 2:00-3:00 p.m. The con-
cession will be open through -out both
skating sessions.
Ice is available to rent on PD Days
for $25.00 per hour. If interested, give
us a call at 235-2833.

Northwestern.
The score was 56-33 with high
scorers Kelly Coon with nine points
and Laurie Forrester with eight

Wednesday, the Irish were edged
6-5 by the league leading Belmont
Bombers, Friday they downed the
Thamesford Trojans 7-4 and Sunday
it was a 10-3 romp over the Thedford
Lumberjacks.
Tonight, Wednesday, the Irish will
be at home at the Lucan Community
Centre to the Mount Brydges Bulldogs
and then it's on the road for the next
two contests. Friday they travel to
Seaforth and Sunday back to
Thedford.
In the Wednesday loss to Belmont,
Glenn Marshall led the Lucan attack
with a two goal effort. Scoring in
single fashion were Paul Barnes,
Rrad Muir and cantaln Bob Thirlwall.
Paul Deplanche, Grant Larsen and
Brad Muir were tops in the playmak-
ing department with two assists
apiece. Helping one goal each were.
Joe Febrey and Glenn Marshall.
Win In Third
Three unanswered goals in the third
period allowed the Irish to win 7-4 in
Thamesford Friday night. Each team
scored two goals in each of the first
two periods.
The first five scores for ,the Irish
came on power play attempts and
Wayne Urbshott was on the firing end
of three of these. The other two were
notched by Grant Larsen and Paul
Barnes.
The sixth score of the night for
Lucan and the first with the teams
playing even was notched by Glenn
Marshall on passes from Brad Muir
and Rob Hardy.
The final score for the winners was
an empty net goal from the stick of
Barnes with 21 seconds left in the
game.
Score Early And Late
In the Sunday win in Thedford, the
Irish counted four times in each of the
first and third periods and sandwich-
ed two between in the second.
Paul Deplanche with three goals for
his night's work was the top
marksman. Joe Febrey and Scott
Denomy were next with two suc-
cessful shots each. Scoring in single
fashion were Glenn Marshall, Rob
Hardy and Brad Muir.
Four assists for Wayne Urbshott
put him into the setup spotlight. Brad
Muir and Scott Denomy were close
behind with three helpings each. Joe
Febrey assisted on a pair of scores
and one assist each went to Rob Har-
dy and Glenn Marshall.
HURON.PERTH RUNNERSUP - Mt. Carmel grades five -six soccer
team finished as runnerup in the recent Huron -Perth Separate School
