Hawks p1.). well
in two Olio games
The Exeter Hawks took the
weekend off from regular activities in
the OHA Western Junior 'D' north
division and went travelling.
The club travelled to the Universi-
ty of Ohio and it was going home for
Hawks first year coach Dave Bogart.
For the past two years Bogart was
one of the playing coaches at the Ohio
school, located in Athens, Ohio.
While the Hawks were defeated in
both games, they turned in very com-
mendable efforts. The scores were 6-3
and 8-7.
In the 6-3 loss Bryan Quinn notch-
ed two of the Exeter goals with Jim
Lewis notching the odd score.
Scoring in the second game was
reversed with Lewis leading the
Hawks with a pair of successful shots
and Quinn added his third of the
series.
Commenting on the series manager
Dan Brintnell said "It took us a little
while in the first game getting ac-
customed to playing without a centre
line. They were sneaking behind us a
few times."
The Hawks will be back at the South
Huron Rec Centre Friday night at
8:30 p.m. with the Thedford Lumber-
jacks providing the opposition. The
Mitchell Hawks will be here Sunday
at 7:30 p.m. and the local Hawks go
to Seaforth Tuesday.
Brintnell announced this week the
signing of Jeff Amens who started the
season with Thedford. He will be
stacking up against his old team-
mate& and joins Dale Timmermans
who was also with Thedford a year
ago.

South Huron league
disbands, splits funds
After two years of inactivity, the ex-
ecutive of the South Huron in-
termediate hockey league has decid-
ed to officially disband.
At a meeting in Exeter Tuesday
night it 'was agreed to split the re-
maining funds equally among the
teams which were in good standing
and based on the number of years
they were in the league.
The Centfalia College Saints and
the Zurich Buckeyes, the only teams
to participate for the full 13 years will
each receive $653. The Hensall-Sher-
woods will get. $561 and the Exeter
Mohawks $357.
The shares of the Zurich, Hensall
and Exeter teams will go to the minor
hockey associations in each com-
munity. At Centralia College the
money will go to the Student Ac-
tivities Council to be used in a future
project for the benefit of all students.
