Queensway news
Well the cool weather is certainly
upon us now, but that has not
hampered our warm spirits at
Queensway. We have had a terrific
week of activities and we would like
to share them with you.
On Monday afternoon we had our
weekly Bingo game at 2:00 p.m. The
ladies from the United Church (Unit
1) came in to run the Bingo and
everyone had a terrific time.
The following afternoon, Reverend
Robert Matheson came in to do our
Tuesday church service. It was an
enlightening service, and enjoyed
very much by all who attended.
Wednesday was a very special day
at Queensway; it was Hat Day. The
Health Care Aides from Conestoga
College put on a special activity for
us. There was a hat contest that had
Such categories as: most colorful, the
biggest, smallest and prettiest hat. It
was a super morning with lots of
laughs, as we all admired each others
hats.
We had the pleasure of welcoming
the Nursery School children into our
home on Thursday morning and
afternoon. They all dressed up in their
costumes and they looked terrific.
We'd like to thank the children for
coming in and brightening up our day,
and getting us in the Halloween spirit!
The movie of the week on Thursday
evening was: "Fiddles and Whimmy
Diddles." It was a good movie with
lots of beautiful scenery and the whit-
tling of old toys that were made long
ago.
Halloween Friday was a super,
dandy and "scary" day. In the after-
noon we had a Halloween Party
where we dressed up, had a costume
contest, played several games and en-
joyed very tasty refreshments.
Everyone looked super and it was
great to see the enthusiastic par-
ticipation:'Queensway would also like
to thank Sally Gilmour for coming in
to help carve out the official
Queensway pumpkin.
