Rebound for win The junior football squad came through for all the their fans in the game Thursday against Goderich. The Panthers won the game 21-13 which now makes their record five wins and no loses. They also won the right to host the semi-final game today. In the first half of the game, Chris Haugh scored a single but Goderich players Sean Wilson and Greg Alcock scored one touchdown each which made the score at halftime 12-1 for Goderich. The Panthers scored 211 points in the second half all by Frank Wulterkens on three short touchdown runs and he also kicked two converts. They held Goderich to one point in the second half which was a single scored by Ken Webb. Jeff DenOtter played an outstan- ding game. He ran 214 yards on 24 carries. Chris Haugh and Glen mcBeath led the game in tackles. Mille Zimmer and Rob Glavin also played a very good game in keeping Goderich from getting the ball to the outside. The officials commented that it was one of the better junior football games that they have refereed all season. The juniors play Palmerston in the semi-final today. Palmerston is rated fourth in the league with a record of t*o wins and three loses. Seniors clipped ' The senior Panthers hooked up in a tough physical game against the visiting Vikings and lost the battle for first place, by an 8-0 count. The score was a bit flattering to the Panthers who were dominated in the contest and also hurt their own cause with a number of penalites. Miller also caught a pass which went for 75 yards. Coach Ron Bogart said that the defense kept the score low but they allowed too many yards. The offence was key and improve- ment is needed. There was also too many penalties called against them. The senior Panthers will play a semi-final game against Listowel at home this Wednesday starting at 3:30 p.m. If they win that one, they'll pro- bably have a chance to try their luck against the Vikings in the final at Goderich. dvoc kerne South Huron.
