Queensway
Howdy folks! Hope you have had a
great week, because here at
Queensway we certainly nave been
busy! On Tuesday afternoon, after the
holiday Monday, we had the pleasure
of meeting, and listening to Mr.
George Cowan as he gave his first ser-
vice at Queensway. We really enjoyed
the service which gave insights into
many things.
Once again we had the pleasure of
having the Hensall United Church
ladies, Unit 1 in to run our weekly
Bingo. We played several games, and
afterward, we visited with each other
over a cup of tea.
At seven p.m. on Thursday evening
it was again time for our Movie of the
week. This week we enjoyed the film,
"At 99." This was a super film that
took us through the daily activities of
Lucy Tandom, a 99 -year-old lady, who
is truly a remarkable influence on
people of all ages.
To close our week, on Friday after-
noon it was again time for our mon-
thly birthday party. This month
everyone would like to wish Roland
Grenier, Neil Regan, Russell Kerr
and Erna Schroeder a very HAPPY
BIRTHDAY! We spent a fun after-
noon listening to Theodore Gray and
Lorne Johnston who played the piano
and violin to entertain us, while Mrs.
Julia Knip and Joan Hay served the
tea and cake. We would like to thank
Mrs. Knip for coming and helping
make the afternoom successful and
enjoyable for all.
Finally, on Sunday, George
Mathonia, Jim Young and Ivan Nor-
ris came in to entertain at our week-
ly Tea Party. They strummed, pick-
ed and fiddled for a very enjoyable
hour. Thanks, fellows, for coming and
making our Sunday that much more
special!
Quote of the week: Knowledge is
gained by learning; trust by doubts;
skill by practice; and love by love.

The second meeting of the Hensall

the home of Carolyn Knight on
Wednesday, October 15.
