Personals Paul and Susan Rader, Ben and Robin and Mary Rader visited with Mrs. Wellwood Gill at Craigwiel Gardens Ailsa Craig and with Wellwood at Craigholme, Sunday. Harry Wilson and his wife Gepka and children Paul and Stephanie visited at the home of their uncle, aunt and cousin, Melvin, Gertie and Sherrie Stade over the weekend, com- ing from Grand Rapids, Michigan. Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Taylor, Kit- chener, visited with relatives in Dashwood Sunday. Barbara Love, Kingston, long time friend of Shirley Tieman whom she hasn't seen for 20 years, spent a week with Shirley and George Tieman. The community was sad to hear of the death of a former resident of Dashwood, Ella Kathryn Eveland Schmidt, who passed away August 16 in the K -W hospital, Kitchener at the age of 67. She was postmaster for 25 years in Baden prior to her retire- ment two years ago. Mr. and Mrs. Leo Gibson and Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Baker attended the funeral of their sister Ella Kathryn Eveland Schmidt at St. James Lutheran Church, Baden. Terry Gibson of St. Thomas visited last weekend with his parents Leo and Frances Gibson and family. Mr. and Mrs. T.H. Hoffman and Mrs. Alice Tieman attended the wed- ding of her grandson David Stormes to Sonia Rayman Saturday at Washburn. It was a lovely wedding. Mrs. Norma Hanks and her grand- daughter Susan of Decatur, Ill., were weekend visitors at the Mellecke home. Susan and Rachel Mellecke were suitemates at Concordia Col- lege, Ann Arbor, Mich. last school term. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Hoffman at- tended a 50th wedding anniversary dinner for Ellwood , and Clarice Johnson Sunday at Strathroy. Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Rader spent two weeks at Wasaga Beach. Mrs. Ilene Elliott, St. Catharines, spent some time with her sister Mrs. Alma Genttner. Murray and Anne Reid spent a week with their daughter, Sandra, Mississauga. .tlodgerts' play annual golf conn granddaughter Holly Ann Hern. Miss Doris Elford, Mrs. Lorne Elford, Mrs. Michael EUord and Brenda, Mrs. Ross Hodgert, Mrs. Philip Johns and Mrs. William Rohde were among those who attended the Horticulture Flower Show at Kirkton Woodham Community Centre last Tuesday evening. Mrs. Ross Ballantyne, Mrs. Bev Alexander, Mrs. Donald Bray, Mrs. Barry Jeffery, Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rohde were at the August Birthday Party at the Blue Water Rest Home Zurich on Wednesday evening. Mrs. Ballantyne played several numbers on the pianoand Bill and 1 played several old hymns on the violin and piano. The ladies provided lunch of cup cakes and tea. and coffee. Mr. and Mrs. Bill Rohde visited on Saturday evening with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Rohde of Mitchell. Rev. Robert and Mrs. Matheson and Jennifer have been holidaying with Mr. and Mrs. Baden Kirby of Kingston and Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Matheson of Ottawa. The annual Hodgert invitational golf tournament was held at the Ex- eter golf course on August 10th with 30 golfers participating. Later in the afternoon, the golfers were joined by their families at the home of Reg and Jean Hodgert. A smorgasbord was enjoyed by all. The trophy was presented by Lillian Hodgert and Reg Hodgert, to Rick Parker, Janet Rice, Steven Rice and Ken Richardson. Low gross went to Douglas Hodgert, and to Michele Riehl. Other prizes were awarded to Brian Hodgert, Mac Hodgert, Lee Hodgert, Lois Hodgert, Scott Hodgert, Reg Hodgert and Shirley Hewitt. Guests were present from Balliang, Australia, London, Seaforth, Toronto, Lobo and Thames Road. Personals Mrs. Floyd Stewart returned home recently after having been to Expo. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Reg Hodgert on the birth of their se - Get well wishes are extended to Mrs. Edna Anderson who is a patient in South Huron Hospital, Exeter after having suffered a fall recently. The September meeting of the United Church Women will com- mence with a pot luck supper at 6 p.m. on September 8 in the church basement. He was the rector of St. Thomas Anglican church and was in his 53rd year. Owing to wet weather on Saturday most do's in town were a washout.
