The above quotation describes, to me, the atmosphere and feeling our residents experienced during our visit to Bill Gibson's lakeside cottage last Monday, June 30, Upon our arrival at the cottage we admired and enjoyed the beautiful plants and flower beds covering the property. Once inside we had the pleasure of listening to Bill play his organ and afterwards we all joined ity a sing -song of old time favourites. To make our afternoon even more special, Bill served us home-made carrot cake with ice cream using his beautiful good china dishes. It was a positively wonderful afternoon. Many thanks to our volunteer drivers, Dorothy Elder, Iva Reid, TroyAnn Cole, Rev. Stan McDonald, Joyce Pepper, Sheila Corbett and Janice Butson. The Nursing Home residents coun- cil met on Monday morning for their monthly meeting. We discussed several issues. It was a very produc- tive meeting. As a result, we have a new resident here at Queensway. On Wednesday July 2, an eight week old kitten was delivered to us by Mrs. Marilyn Zivcovic. We are thrilled with our new friend. We haven't given him a name yet, but we are having a "Name the Cat" contest to find just the perfect title. Our Church service this week was performed by Rev. Stan McDonald. This was held in our dining room with several of our residents attending. On Friday morning a group of our residents attended the Bible School closing ceremony which was held at the Hensall United Church. We thoroughly enjoyed the pro- gram put on by the teachers and children. Also on Friday, Father Mooney pro- jtded our Roman Catholic residents with a service. Our movie presenta- tion for this week was a Charlie Chaplin film entitled, "Jitney Elope- ment". It was enjoyed by all who attended.
