Juniors kept busy,
post three wins, tie
The Exeter Co -Op Junior baseball
team have been busy during the
month of June, taking to the diamond
six times and posting three wins, two
losses and one tie.
After dropping a 9-6 verdict to
Strathroy and a 3-1 count to South
London, the locals got back on the
winning track with consecutive wins
over Strathroy, South London and
Lakeside and then played the latter
to a 3-3 tie on Monday before darkness
halted the game.
Doug Schade worked the first seven
innings in the Monday tilt and gave up
all three runs in the first four innings
CONATIONS — The Exeter Inn-dians this week turned over proceeds
from their hockey and ball tournaments to two local groups. Ad-
minisfrator Don Currell, left, accepts a $200 cheque from Dave Urlin

Stingers get
an even split
The Huron Park Stingers chalked
up one win and one loss for their
record this week. Their first loss of
the season happened on Sunday after-
noon against Ilderton with a final
score of 6-4.
In the second inning, Sherry
Nickles walked and scored on a hit
from Lena McConnell. Singles in the
fifth inning by Donna Glanville, Carol
Windsor and Willie Dimmer produc-
ed three more runs.
Starting on the mound was Carol
Windsor, who had four strike outs,
with relief coming from Lena
McConnell.
On Monday night, the Stingers were
in Oneida and scored a decisive 12-4
win. In the fourth inning, a double by
Heather Smith and singles by Nancy
Ogg, Donna Glanville and Lena
McConnell crossed the plate for four
runs. Home runs by ,Janice Capitano
and Donna Glanville, with singles
from Carol Windsor, Sherry Nickles,
Donna Glanville. Lena McConnell and
Sheila Penhale, and a walk by Chris
Beach, helped to produce eight more
runs.

Blanche Johns at 412. Ernie Chip -
chase was best for the men with 428.
Next came John Pepper at 329.

John Eberle at 386. Next were Charles
