Cubs camp at
The First Zurich Curb pack went
camping last weekend (end of May)
from Friday to Sunday at Benmiller
and were lucky to have nice weather
(they arrived back home before the
rain started on Sunday).
Fourteen cubs went along with
leaders and helpers who were Hub
Thiel (Akela) and his wife Mary;
Hilda Vanderhook, Doug Erb, Cecil C
Regier, Karl Regier, Bev esch and
Katherine Beierling. All returned
tired but happy!
They made good use of all the cam-
ping equipment that .various people
donated to the cub pack, which will be
put away for now and used again next
year. If anyone still has things they
don't want (anything useful for cam-
ping, even coolers, etc.) please phone
Hub Thiel 236-4557.
Last Tuesday evening (June 3rd)
was their last meeting for the sum-
mer and many visitors were present
at the public school gym. It was an ap-
preciation night and all who helped
out the cubs in any way during the
past season were acknowledged.
Refreshments of pop, cookies and
popcorn were enjoyed afterwards.
Registration for next fall will be on
Sept. 9 for the Cubs. We would like to
see two more groups get started up in
town as well, Beavers and Girl
Guides. Leaders for both groups are
now available- but need some
assistants to be able to get it going by
fall. If interested in helping out once
a week or so, please phone Hub Thiel
at 236-4557.
