T -A photo Former director back as performer Past Artistic Director, Aileen Taylor -Smith, will be back this year at the Huron Country Playhouse after a four-year absence playing Mrs. Mullen in Carousel and Annie Brown in the Black Bonspeil of Wullie MacCrimmon. Aileen has a long association with The Playhouse being one of the original actresses to perform in`The Playhouse's first production Showoff in 1972. This was only the first of a number of shows that Aileen would play a major role in, leading up to her appointment as Artistic Director of the theatre from 1979 to 1982. In addi- tion to her acting and directing con- tributions to the theatre, Aileen in- stigated the "Young Players Com- pany" who won the hearts of Playhouse patrons over their three years. Originally Aileen wanted to be a director in California, but when ac- ting jobs were easier to find, Aileen soon discovered she had a flare for both. Born in Tennessee, and now a resident of Toronto, Aileen's acting career has taken her to Windsor, Bar- rie, Tordnto, Sudbury and New Brunswick. However, it's the per- sonal aspect of small theatre and the friendly'audiences of Grand Bend that bring Aileen back to The Huron Coun- try Playhouse. Aileen says, "I love coming home. I love the people, Grand Bend is a warm-hearted place. There's a richness from the input of the audience that makes The Huron • Game Sets Euchre or Bridge in light or dark oak - handy pouch carrier. "It was with great difficulty that I had to leave each time. I was . always thinking of Grand Bend while I was away." PRICE UNCHANGED The price paid to producers for Grade A large eggs in June will be un- changed in all provinces except New- foundland, the Canadian Egg Marketing Agency announced today. The price in Newfoundland will go up one cent a dozen Monday because egg producers in that province did not recover their full production costs in May. This shortfall adjustment, will be removed once those costs have been recouped, said the agency. The farm -gate price for Grade A large eggs is now two to three cents a dozen lower than a year ago, and five to six cents lower than two years ago.
