Mt. Carmel
confirmation
By Leah Hartman •
I am pleased to announce that all of
the grade sevens and eights from Mt.
Carmel and precious Blood, were con-
firmed Wednesday May 21. '-
Bishop J. M. Sherlock confirmed
the 62 students as they proudly walk-
ed up to the altar to become adults of
the church. The choir singers were
the young voices of grades four to six
as they mingled with the adult
members of the choir as the confir-
mation mass went on.
Of course a mass is a celebration
and what good is a celebration
without refreshments? So after mass
in the school gym the proud parents
were given refreshments as they con-
gratulated the new adult members of
the church. Everyone was happy and
content.
Even Bishop Sherlock came back to
the school for refreshments and or
admirers to take pictures. I hope
when I get confirmed, everyone has
as much fun as those this year.
Golden gintr.le3
All of us, including the flower'
gardens and lawns, were no doubt
refreshed by the rain we had on the
weekend.
For all of our readers who are in-
terested in the progress of our new ad-
dition, we are pleased to report that
the building is now completed with the
exception of the floor covering which
we expect will be laid within a few •
days. I am sure we will find this new
facility very useful for many of our
activities including the mid-season
family dinner which we are now mak-
ing plans for.
We regret that Mr. William Sillery
and Mrs. Hilda Turnbull are still
hospitalized.
On Wednesday afternoon, a bus
load of residents had the pleasure of
