Fire 1•ss at pr•ds.
The Grand Bend fire brigade were
summoned at 1:40 p.m. Thursday to
a serious fire that broke of in a pro-
duce warehouse at RR 2 Grand Bend.
Henry Jamrozinski, owner of the
Grand Bend Produce Co. Ltd.
warehouse, said that most- of the
damage done was to the packing sup-
plies and the building itself. He prais-
ed the excellent job of both Grand
Bend and Thedford-Bosanquet fire
departments, who kept the blaze from
spreading to the nearby coolers.
Jamrozinski guessed that the fire
started from an electrical cause.
Firemen were forced to wear air
masks inside at all times due to the
heavy smoke and gases from the bur-
ning onions, potatoes, and plastic
packaging supplies melting in the in-
tensive heat'.
Jamrozinski reported that the
coolers were restarted on Friday in
the four year old building. He
estimated the damages will run to
over $120,000.00. Produce trucks were
back in operation as well cel Friday;
He felt very grateful to both, fire

Looking on the positive side of
things, Jamrozinski stated that
without the firemen "it could have
been a million dollar loss"

character traits as honesty, depen-
dability, truthfulness and sincerity.
God detests anyone who deals
dishonestly. Deuterohomy 25:16.
One of the most tremendousthings
about God is that, "if we'are failtiiless,
He will remain faithful, For He cannot
disown himself". 2 Timonthy 2:13.
The miracle of God's forgiveness can
be part of an even greater miracle in
your life - the miracle of lifelong
faithfulness, even to the point of
death. Then you can' look forward to
hearing Him say "Well done good and
faithful servant." Matthew 25:2. 1
Nita Sinclair led the lesson and
gave the closing prayer remembering
sick and shut ins.
Vera Brown gave a short introduc-
tion to the next chapter on "A diligent
heart." In lesson six we will be con-
sidering a "diligent heart", based on
the text, "Watch over your heart with
all diligence, for from it flow the
springs of life." Proverbs 4:23.

creased their force to 21 additional of-
fiers for Ws first Victoria Day

patrol villagestreets throughout the
summer. Sgt. Gerry Hillman from the

Most of the downtown businesses
reported a' good weekend, perhaps
bigger than they've had. When
tourists can't go to the beach, they eat
and they go shopping! By the look of
the long line ups from most licensed
bars on Friday night. many pro-
prieters will be smiling this week.
One concern in Grand Bend on a
holiday, which was better this
weekend, was that the traffic flow
was less. Village foreman Jack
Stanlake didn't have as much trouble
with litter on the beach due to the
cloudy skies.
-Choosing friends
The -youth met on May 14 at the
Church of God when Peter Barnhart
and Mrs. C. Barnhart conducted a Bi-
ble study from Proverbs. The study
was on friendship, relating to the good
and bad qualities in choosing Friends.
Three of the youths were away for
four days attending the provincial
Youth rally at Hidden Acres. The
adult prayer and Bible study follow-
ed with Pastor Barnhart expanding
the truths based on the purpose of
the Law taken from Galations
chapter 3.
On Sunday morning following Sun-
day school at 10 a.m. Mrs. Steckle
favored with a special song "The Way
He Loves". In the evening, Alex Des-
jardine led a singsong of favorites
with Phyllis Desjardine at the piano.
Pastor Barnhart's theme was taken
from Genesis chapters, 39-41, tying in
chapter 15 preparing Joseph for
Leadership.
