Nuron South District Women's In-
stitute held their district annual
meeting at Grand Bend, Thursday.
The meeting came to order with
president, Mrs. Shirley Cooper
presiding. Everyone was welcomed
by the hest Institute Grand Bend and
Seaforth presented the In Memorium.
Dashwood W.I. presented a fashion
show of hats with 10 ladies showing off
their homemade creations.
Mrs. Clarence Lewis brought
greetings from the London Area W.I.
stating the area convention will be
held this year October 18 and 17 at
London. •
Mrs. Jane Muegge, Rural
Organization Specialist, OMAF
reported that about 400 ladies took
part in the home decor program and
almost 800 boys andgirls participated
in the recent 4H clubs that are spon-
sored by the Women's Institute.
She mentioned the many upcoming
courses of the 4H clubs and the
resource kits that are available.
Mrs. John Richardson, Oxford
County W.I. spoke on the "Fairfield
family puppets" which is an
agricultural kit that was prepared by
the Oxford County W.I. and the
Women for Support of Agriculture for
use in schools to bring agriculture in
the claurooms. Huron South

Mrs. Marian Dougall, provincial
board director, gave her report of re-
cent happenings and told of the up-
coming projects of the Federated
Women's Institute of Ontario.
Mrs. Jane Muegge Rural Organiza-
tion Specialist of OMAF, conducted
the installation of officers for 1888-87
which areas follows: president; Mrs.
Floyd Cooper, Exeter, first vice-
president; Mrs. Gordon. MacKenzie,
Seaforth and Mrs. Harry Dougall, Ex-
eter. Sec. trees; Mrs. Jean Lynn,
Wingham, asst. sec.; Mrs. Gordon
Elliot, Seaforth, Federation
Representative; Mrs. Grace Drum-
mond, Exeter.
