The sermon topic at Zion United
Church was taken from James 1:2-18
titled "Why Bother About Grid?"
Laura Marie daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Richard Parsons was baptiared.
There were three great grand-
mothers and 27 grandmothers who
were each presented with a red silk
rose. Rev. Elder presented the roses
and was assisted by Julie and Kathy
Hendrick.
Choir practice is Wednesday even-
ing at 8 p.m. •

CHOIR OH, TO LUDO -, The choir from North Middlesex District High School in Parkhill leave next
week for Western Canada. They will perform at'Expo '86 and a World Showcase of Musk.
High school choir heading west,
to performthre� times at Expo '86
The North Middlesex District High
School Choir from Parkhill will leave
May 22 for an 8 day tour of Western
Canada. The 51 students under the
direction of Mrs. Phyllis Schram will
perform in three concerts at Expo '86
in Vancouver May 23 and compete in
the Heritage Festival's World
Shgwcase of Music in new
Westminster, B.C. on May 24.
Following two days of sightseeing
and travel through the Rockies, the
Choir performs in Banff on May 26
and Jasper May 27 before flying home
from Calgary on May 29.
The choir regularly comprises.66
members, 51 of whom are travelling
to Vancouver. Students from
grades nine to 13 are members and
the choir has been in existence for six
years and has won numerous awards
including a bronze medal at the
Heritage Music Festival in
Washington, DC in 1984.
Choir members and tile Choir
Parents' Association have raised
about $20,000 towards the cost of the
trip, thanks to very generous support
of many fund raising projects and
donations from church groups, ser-
vice clubs and individuals.
The choir is an outgrowth of the ex-
panded music program at
N.M.D.H.S. which this year has 4
classes in vocal music.
Total enrollment at N.M.D.H.S. this
year is 360. ,
Assistant director of the choir is
Roger Kennedy and business
manager is Bill McHugh.

To the Middlesex County Board of Education:
We have examined the Balance Sheet of the Mid-
dlesex County Board of Education as at December 31,
1985, and the Revenue Fund Statement of Operations
and the Capital Fund Statement of Operations for the
year then ended. Our examination was made in accor-
dance with generally accepted auditing standards, and
accordingly included such tests and other procedures
as we considered necessary in the circumstances.
In our opinion, these financial statements present
fairly the financial position of the Board as at December
31, 1985 and the results of its operations for the year
then ended in accordance with the accounting principles
described in Note 1 to the financial statements applied
on a basis consistent with that of the preceding
year.

the circumstances.
In our opinion, these financial statements present
fairly the financial position of the trust funds for The
Middlesex County Board of Education as at December
31, 1985 and the continuity of trust funds for the year
then ended in. accordance with accounting principles
prescribed for, School Boards applied on a basis con-
sistent with that of the preceding year.
