St. Peter's CWL, St. Joseph, is hav-
ing their installation of officers
tonight, Wednesday, May 14 at the
7:30 Mass, to be followed by a short
meeting at the parish hall.
Mike Miller will give a presentation
on landscaping and gardening.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
A bake sale is.planned on Sunday
May 18 following the 10:00 Mass.
Everyone is invited, to their Bingo on
Wednesday May 21 at 8:00 at the
parish hall.
Attend Diocese convention
CWL members Bridget Groot and
Helen Creces from St. Boniface
Parish, along with Rose Regier (Joe)
and Sharon Durand of St. Peter's
Parish, attended a two-day Diocesan
convention that was held at the
Wheels Inn, Chatham, last 'Tuesday
and Wednesday, May 6 and 7. They
found it to be very interesting and
informative.
Father Mooney was also able to at-
tend the banquet.
Zurich WI
The topic for the May WI meeting
was Citizenship and World Affairs,
the committee being Joan-gmnith, Kay
Hay and Margaret Westlake. ,
Kay read an article from the Focus
about what Eugene Whelan is trying
to do for the third world countries.
Joan conducted a quiz on World
Affairs.
Special mus' was furnished by
Jayne Westial on the piano, violin
and singing Whatever Will Be Will Be
accompanied by her grandmother on
the piano.
The program closed with the song
Something to Sing About.
During the business Verlyn Fisher
gave a report of the recent board
meeting in Hensall. The district an-
nual will be in Grand Bend May 15
and Zurich is in charge of Pennies for
Friendship.
Happy Birthday was sung for
Eileen Consitt, Louise Ivanchenko
and Ina Neeb. Sixteen answered the
roll call by naming something they
are proud of in the community.
The June meeting will be a potluck
supper with the quilters as guests.
Congratulations- to Mike Risi and
Beth Gelinas who were married on
Friday evening at St. Boniface
Church by Father Mooney with a dos-
ed reception held at the Zurich Com-
munity Centre. The bride is the
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Claude
Gelinas and the groom is the son of
Mr. and Mrs. Josef Risi, Zurich.

' Meghan Caileen O'Rourke,
daughter of Pat and Gwen, was
rreeccOed into the church on Sunday at
SL Peter's Lutheran Church. A family
get-together and dinner followed at
the Community Centre in Dashwood
with several relatives attending and
also celebrating Mother's Day.
Grandparents, Mary and Harvey
Clausius of Zurich attended.
The baby's godparents are Ruth
and Andy Imanse, Hensall.
Courtney Michelle Overholt,
dapghter of Mike and Charlene, was
baptized on Sunday, May 11 at Our
Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, with god-
parents being Danny and Donna
Overholt of Exeter. A family get-
together and Mother's Day celebra-
tion was held at the home of the
grandparents, Vic and Irene Hart-
man, afterwards.
The bake sale at the Rest Home on
Saturday was a big success. Thanks
to all who donated, helped and came
out for the afternoon.
Mother's Day corsages were made
by Blanche Bechard for all the lady
residents.
Case and Annie Van Raay spent the
weekend with their daughter Ady and
Peter Tetley in Toronto, and attend-
ed the graduation of their son Michael
on Friday from Sheridan College
where he was taking wood -working
and designing.
On Sunday Martin and Theresa
VanRaay and children spent the'day
in Toronto and joined the rest 8f the
family at an open house and craft sale
at Michael's school.
Thelma Worsell of Vancouver is
spending some time in town and
visiting with Dorothy Koehler who is
a patient in Exeter hospital.
Happy wedding anniversary to
Nancy and Joe Becker (nee Overholt)
on May 12. Happy birthday wishes are
extended to Rodney Smale who was
two years old on May 6. Heather
Klopp on May 10 and Marcel Gelinas
on May 16.

The weatherman certainly smiled
on its for the Mother's Day weekend.
One of the highlights was the Mother's
Day tea and bake sale held here on
Saturday' afternoon at the Home. On
behalf of the Ladies Auxiliary; we
want to thank all in the community
who supported the event, making it
the great success that it was..
The people winning the draws were
as follows: Mother's -Day cake made
by Mary Lou Erb was won by Mrs.
Hilda Turnbull of the Home. The
afghan donated and made by Carol
Dietz was won by Mrs. Thelma
Worsell of Calgary, Alberta. The crib
blanket made and donated by Ina
Neeb Was won by Connie Lewis.
Thank you, everyone, for your par-
ticipation in this event.
On Tuesday evening, the regular
monthly meeting was held by the
Ladies Auxiliary commencing with a
program for the residents. Those tak-
ing part in the entertainment were
Michelle, Angeleand Jason Erb who
each played two piano solos. Ann
Flaxbard favoured with two Mother's
Day poems. Karen Steckle and Cheryl
Kuepfer sang two duets and the Men-
nonite Youth and Fellowship Group
sang a few numbers.
Fdllowing the program, everyone
enjoyed refreshments.
We are pleased to welcome Mrs.
Genevieve Ducharme back from the
hospital much improved.
On Thursday evening, Mr. John
Cornish was honoured at a dinner at
the Clinton Legion. He was piped in
and presented with a 60 -gear Jubilee
Medal as the only surviving veteran
of World War I who is a member of
the Clinton Legion. Congratulations
Mr. Cornish.

of long=time member Morris Webb
with regret.
A donation of $35.00 was sent to the
Heart and Stroke Foundation in
memory of Lion Don Oke's mother.
