Bowlers enjoy banquet; Blue Water Real
A good time was had by all on
Saturday evening when the ladies and
men's bowling teams (accompanied
by their spouses) enjoyed another an-
nual banquet at the Hensel! Com-
munity Centre. A delicious roast beef
supper with all the trimmings and pie
for dessert was served to the 300 peo-
ple there.
Awards and trophies were handed
out to the winning teams. Next year's
executive for the ladies league will be
the 'Red Devils' and tate men's ex-
ecutive team are the "New Comers".
Several floral arrangements were
handed out to those who had raised
over $100. in the recent Big Brothers
and Sisters Bowl-A-Thon with the
highest sponsor being George Coyle
of Grand Bend who raised over $600
and won a weekend for two at the
Park Lane Hotel in London.
Tony and Marlene Bedard receiv-
ed a gift certificate for dinner at
Robindales in Exeter.
The night concluded once again
with a dance to the terrific music of
Mozart's Melody makers.
Rest Home Tea and Bake Sale
Plan to attend the bake sale and tea
at the Rest Home This Saturday, May
10 from 2 to 4 p.m. in the afternoon
which will also feature a plant sale
table, bazaar items, and draws on a
decorated cake and other items.
Tickets on the Auxiliary Bean
Festival quilt will be on sale.
Everyone is invited and welcome.
Communion
The grade two children of St.
Boniface School made their Holy
Communion together as a group at
the 9:00 a.m. Mass on Sunday.
On Tuesday and Wednesday two
delegates of the CWL will be atten-
ding the annual Diocesan Convention
in Chatham at Wheels Inn.
This coming Sunday will be "Bless-
ings of the Seeds" at all Masses, so
that the farmers will have a good
harvest.

Open Hoose
The Bean Sprouts Nursery School
are having Open House and'Registra-
tion this Saturday, M6y 10 from 10-12

pay -what -you -pull tickets.
Bowling banquet
The Saturday morning youth bowl-
ing teams will be having their end -of -
the -season banquet at the Zurich
arena on Sunday, May 25 for
themselves and their families.
Parents' tickets are $7.25 and $3.00
for children 10 and under. Please con-
tact Sandra Dickert as soon as possi-
ble. Dinner will beat 5:00 p.m. Please
plan to attend.

The figure skating club banquet
was on April 29.

A few people from the area attend-
ed a Food Show in Toronto held
recently at the C.N.E. They enjoyed
tasting all kinds of different foods and
drinks.
Peggy Hay is home after spending
a few days in Exeter hospital last
week.
Happy Birthday to Herb Neeb who
celebrated his 82nd year on Saturday
with a birthday party supper in his
honor at their trailer with 22 family
members attending.

returned home last Tuesday after a
nice vacation in Holland.
A family retaaion and a belated 84th
birthday celebration was held for
Mrs. Juliette Denomme on Sunday,
May 4 at St. Peter's Parish Hall, St.
Joseph with 100 relatives attending
including her children and their
spouses, 34 grandchildren and 26
great-grandchildren coming from
Toronto, Lansing, Detroit, Guelph,
London, Rondeau Park and Zurich.
A delightful and funny two hour
talent show and program was put on
by some of the grandchildren and was
enjoyed by all.
A delicious buffet supper was serv-
ed. Guests included Fr. Bensette and
Fr. Mooney.
Mrs. Marie Denomme spent a few
days in Sarnia last week visiting with
her son Ron and Diane Denomme and
family.
Peter and Bonnie Regier and three
boys of London spent Saturday and
Sunday visiting with their parents,
Rose and Lee Regier and Theresa and
Clem Regier.
Congratulations to 13 -year old
David Thiel, son of Lois and Doug on
winning first prize in the Computer
division of the Huron County Science
Fair held on April 18 in Clinton. David
also won the I.B.M. computer
Technology Award. He is a student at
Zurich public school.
Mrs. Lauren Corriveau enjoyed a
lovely two week holiday in Calgary,
Alberta visiting with her sons, Peter
and Doug, and a friend, Mrs. Edna
Nicholson in Delia. she also went to
Banff while there.
Ernst and Elizabeth Ihrig Sr. are
presently spending a month's vaca-
tion with their son and family Ernst
and Christa Ihrig Jr., RR 2 Zurich.
An enjoyable evening was had by
all who attended the Visitor's Night
from `various churches held at the
United Church last Thursday with the
guest speaker being Mrs. Alma
Langford of Exeter.

Saturday supper guests' with their
daughter, Ruth Ann Flaxbard in Lon-
donalong with other daughter, Shirley
and Roes Cooper and children Jon and
Lori. Everyone was celebrating the
latter couple's 20th wedding
anniversary.
A good time was had by all who at-
tended the Buck and Doe dance On
Saturday at the Zurich arena for
Karen Camp and Dan Denomme
who are to married on May 17.
