WHY IS A WILL SO IMPORTANT?
It is a sobering fact to find out that if you do not leave a legally accep=
table will, the province supplies a ready-made one which may or may
out carry out your desires.
An oral or handwritten will is not considered legal in many provinces
and will not necessarily be considered in the handling of your estate.
When a legal will has not been recorded, the possibilities of inequities
are many. These inequities can often lead to additional expenses and
heartaches to your survivors at a time when many other decisions must
also be made.
To make out a will with a lawyer's guidance assures you that you -
and not the province will direct the distribution of your estate.
IF you do not know a lawyer to help with your will, contact the nearest
bar association, your bank or someone used to dealing with lawyers.
Making o will is a difficult and emotional task, another reminder that
death will indeed come to each of us. Drbwing up your will and mak-
ing your pre -need funeral arrangements are two necessary steps which
every adult ought to make. We suggest you do both now instead of
when it's too late.
