4-H girls host
their parents
April 2, the Crediton Club 4-H.girls
held a potluck, supper for their
parents. Each girl was to prepare one
dish for the supper.
After supper the girls talked about
what to wear for certain occasions
and about being a good sport.
April 8 we held our meeting. First
we went to the_ funeral home in
Dashwooa where Jim Hoffman gave
a tour.
He showed all the different rooms
and different kinds of caskets..
Mary Fleming thanked Jim by
presenting him with a gift for his
time. Then we went to Dietrich's for
our meeting. We talked about going
on dates and etiquette at the movies
or theatre.

Kirkton Women's Institute held
their March meeting at the Kirkton-
Woodham Community Centre. Mrs.
Phyllis Rodd, the president, opened
the meeting with the Institute Ode and
the Mary Stewart Collect. The roll
call was answered by "A saying that
has to do with health".
The meeting was in theme of
"#leelth" wit1J E anor Williams and
'Shirley 13rintnell charge. Our guest
speaker was Lo'alee Marshall of
Kirkton who spoke on her kidney
transplant. Loralee was intrqduced
by Eleanor Williams and thanked by
Shirley Brintnell and presented with
a pot of spring flowers.
Lunch was served by the commit-
tee in charge of Helen Shute.

James Church euchre on T uenday
evening. Prizes went to high scorers
-Mildred Hertzel and Cleve Milian;
lone hands - Lillie Swartz and Stewart
Campbell; low score - Alma Hodgins,
Lawrence Hirtzel.
In between prizes went to Mary
Meikle and Joe Carter. Skunk pre -
Mrs. Barker. The next party will be
April 22.
The April meeting of ' the
Clandeboye. Wornen's Institute was
held at the home of Mrs. Bruce
Mrs.fArnold Lewis, retiring presi-
dent, conducted the meeting. Ten
members answered the roll call with
payment of fees.
Secretary June Henry, reported on
a bus trip to Toronto to be sponsored
by Lucan W.I.
The May meeting for Clanbeboye
W.I. will be held in St. James Church
Thursday night May 15. Note, change
of meeting date. Guests will be Lucan
and Cloverdale Institutes and there
will be a speaker on "Special
Education."
The officers for the coming year

Zion Lutheran Church Ladies Aid
met Tuesday, April 8 with group 1 in
charge of devotions and lunch. Mrs.
Nancy Rader, president, opened the
meeting with scripture reading and n.
the title Famous Women of the Bible.
The following names were placed in
the proper place by Bible reading -
namely, Elizabeth, Sarah, Martha,
Eve, Lydia, Ruth, Mary, Dorcas,
Hannah and Miriam.
A letter was read from our adopted
Seminary student, Les Hohner who
with .his family plans to attend the
May Mother and Daughter supper.
The ladies will be in charge of the
Lutheran Laymen's League supper
April 27.
Fourteen members answered the
roll call. Cards of thanks and donation
were received. One birthday card and
one sympathy card were sent out.
Mrs. Theta Bruce had closing devo-
tions followed by a delicious lunch.

stay in South Huron Hospital, Exeter

'down under' slides

A meeting of St. Patrick's A.C.W.
was held at the home of Mrs. Tom
Kooy, Tuesday evening. With 13
members present and two guests. Mr.
Brent Caslick, of Centralia presented
slides of his recent visit to New
Zealand. He explained the map and
outlined their trip. The ladies express-
ed their pleasure and Mary Kooy
presented Brent with a token of ap-
preciation. A business meeting follow-
ed with further plans for the 125th an-
niversary of the church etc. The
Thankoffering was presented to be
given at the annual A.C.W. meeting
in London later this month. The presi-
dent Rase Cunningham closed with
prayer and all enjoyed a social hour
with refreshments provided by the
hostess.

Stratford on Wednesday evening.
Church Service Sunday was at
eleven o'clock with Rev. P. Derrick
in charge. Paul Bedell was server and
Tyler Bedell and Marguerite
Greenelee were readers, Mrs. Mary
Kooy was pianist. A short skit entitl-
ed "Stone Soup" directed by Kim Van
Allan was presented by the Sunday
School. Holy Communion followed.
Service next Sunday is planned for
eleven o'clock.
Mrs. Mary Davis and Mr. and Mrs.
Ralph Simpson, Nancy and Darren,
London were guests Sunday with Mr.
and Mrs. Bob MacGillivray and girls.
