Youth bible group meet
Church of God
Wednesday night the Youth Bible
study group pondered Proverbs, as
regards the five attitudes of a foolish
man. The adults continued their study
on Genesis, the story of Abraham, the
marriage of Isaac, and the deaths of
Sarah and Abraham.
Sunday morning Rev. Barnhart
spoke from Mark 8:31-38 on the cross
of Christ. Christ was a volunteer, not
merely a victim, He went willingly to
the cross. We too have our crosses to
bear, by giving up our self-will to God,
and to give up our self righteousness,
since we are right only through
Christ. Lastly, we must give up our
self-consciousness, not to be asham-
ed of our beliefs in the gospel of
Christ.
A special solo was performed by
Glenda Desjardine, "Where Could I
Go But to the Lord," accompanied by
Eileen Desjardine on the piano.
In the Sunday evening service, Rev.
Barnhart spoke from Mark 5:1-20, on
being a wounded healer like Christ.
He heals us so that we may help
others in our turn. Alex Desjardine
performed a special solo, "The
Healer".
