at Dashwood Zion

Zion Lutheran Ladies Aid met
March 11 with 14 members and one
guest present. President Mrs. Nancy
Rader opened the meeting with the
singing of "Sweet the Moments, rich
in Blessing" followed by Psalm 96
read responsively.
Pastor Mellecke took for the topic
"The Power of the Pope Grows".
These included Sylvester I,
Augustine, Leo I, Gregory the Great,
Leo III, Gregory VII. The Altar Guild
is Mrs. Elda Koehler and Nang
Rader. April 27 the Aid will serve a
sausage and sauerkraut supper to the
Lutheran Laymen's League.
A loan of $1,000 was made to Good
Shepherd church, London. The next
meeting will be April 8 at 8 p.m. Mrs.
Earl Keller had closing Devotions.

Nathan Stewart Brown, infant son
of Stewart and Beverly Brown was
baptized in Zion Lutheran church
Sunday by Rev. M. Mellecke. Spon-
sors were Mark and Maureen Stire.
Terry Gibson, St. Thomas, visited
with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo
Gibson on the weekend. He has ac-
cepted the position ol the program co-
ordinator of community services for
the St. Thomas Elgin Association for
the Mentally Retarded in St. Thomas.
Randy Marriage and friend, Kathy
Ladd of Clinton visited with Mr. and
Mrs. Leo Gibson, Friday.
Kenneth Ford, London, spent the
holidays with his grandparents, Ken-
neth and Gertie McCrae. They took
him home Friday and stayed over-
night due to foggy conditions.
Mrs. Cindy Keller is a patient in
University Hospital, London.
Friends and relatives of Emma
(Willed) Schroeder were saddened
by her death in her 96th year in Yale,
Michigan on March 5. She was born
and raised in Dashwood.
Lunch and pictures of events on film
by Jack Gaiser were shown by Mrs.
Nancy Rader.

Dashwood, has been named to the
dean's honour list for the fall seminar
at Concordia College, Ann Arbor.
