meeting were read by Secretary 4. Proceeds will once again go to the
Glenda Wagner and the treasurer's Cancer Society. Susan Kraftcheck
report was given by Donna Webster. was co hostess for the evening.
Correspondence was read by Verla
Russell.
Founders Day for the area chapters
will be on May 1, 1986 at The Livery
in Goderich. Thank yous were said for
various treats and gifts.
Glenda introduced the guest
speaker, Sharon Miller.
She gave valuable tips for the pur-
chase and care of various materials.
Donna Webster prepared the lunch
for the evening.
Roll call for the March 4 meeting
was "What de you know about Expo
86?" Hostess Mary Ellison introduc-
ed her husband, Doug, who gave an
ethusiastic description and slide show
of what to expect at Expo '86 in Van-
counver from May 2 to October 31.
Since he is the only authorized
agent in this area for Expo he has a
vast wealth of knowledge regarding
this event. The tour also took us to Ed-
monton ( super holiday), Banff, etc.
Many wish they could take the real
trip. The meeting, under the direction
of President Maida, followed. Cor-
respondence was received from the
Children's Miracle Network Telethon
which will be viewed on the London
and Wingham TV stations May 31 -
June 1. All money raised in this area
will be used for the Children's
Hospital in London. The chapter voted
to forward a donation.
Similarly a donation will be given
to Pulling Our Own Strings Collective,
an awareness group for young
women. Daffodil Day is set for April

The Beta Theta Chapter met at
Sugar and Spice February 4. Sherri
Seldon, using the topic Sweet
Deli hts, gave demonstration on
ma ng homemade candy.
F avoured coffee was available
while the members were learning
also about the delights of a plate, doll
or stuffed animal collection.
Eileen Ross was then hostess at her
home for the remainder of the
meeting. Roll call was appropriately
naming your favourite sweet. News
regarding the TriCity Convention in
Toronto was introduced.
President Maida Gaiser drew the
winning ticket for the Valentine
Weekend at the Harbour Castle
Hilton. Congratulations to Jayne Con-
sitt and to salesperson Donna
Webster. Donna was also sponsored
by the Chapter ' at the Big
Brother/Sister Bowlathon. Lunch was
served by co -hostess Verla Russell.
Phyllis Johnson was hostess for the
February 18 meeting. Roll call was
"What do you like about the fashions

The Exeter senior citizens club held
their meeting at the Legion Hall
March 3. The meeting opened by sing-
ing 0 Canada and repeating the
Lord's Prayer.
PresId Ruby Beaver presided
over the heiness. Reports were read
and approved. Card conveners
reported sending a get well card to Ila
Love.
Eileen Mathers and Vera Hohner
have been in hospital. Birthdays and
anniversaries were acknowledged.
The zone rally will be held at
McKay Hall in Goderich on Wednes-
day, April 6. Registration will be 9:30
to 10 a.m.
Anyone interested in a six day trip
to Deer Lodge or four day trip to
Elgin House in Muskoka in June or
September contact Mildred Thomson.
New members names were added
to the list of committees. The current
membership being 129.
The program, chaired by Marion
Porter consisted of readings by
Marion Porter and Thelma Russell,
violin selections by Clifford Jaques
accompanied by Lorne Elford on
piano and piano instrumentals by
Doug Lewis, who also rendered violin
selections accompanied by Elsie
Jory.

were given by Lydia Regier, Jeanie
'riskier, Pat Skinner and Marion
Porter. Piano instrumentals by Mar-
jorie Johns were enjoyed.
President Ruby Beaver expressed
thanks to all who took part in the pro-
gram, also to the committees.
SMOKE-FREE SCHOOL
Principal Arnold Hull recently
reported that River Heights School in
Dorchester has become smoke-free
by agreement of the staff.
This ip the Middlesex County Frei Estimotes
Board's sixth school to be declared Rowena lichoufter, RR 1 Exeter
smoke-free. The others are Prince ` 235-0965
Andrew, Plover MWs, Caradoc North,
Caradoc South, and Southdale.
