TEMIISMAN Six tables were in play at the pro- gressive euchre party, sponsored by the Staffa Wmen's Institute on Wednesday evening to the township hall. Prizes were awarded to, Mrs. Harvey Dow, Cromarty (ladies' high), Harvey Dow, Cromarty (gent's high), Mrs. Ernest Harburn, Staffa (lone hands), Mrs. Bob Parsons,. Cromarty ( ladies' low) , Gordon Scott, Cromarty ( gent's low ), James Keys, Seaforth (nearest birthday). Three lucky cups were revealed following lunch, served by the In- stitute members, winners being Mrs. Gordon Scott, Cromarty; Mrs. Elmer Dow, Mitchell; Mrs.. Harold Coleman, Seaforth. UCW Meet The February meeting of the Hib- bert United Church Women began with a pancake luncheon served by Nancy Dearing and Ada Pethick. Personals A very successful games evening for young and old, was enjoyed by all on Friday evening in the Family Life Centre. The; local, Scouts, Cubs and Beavers participated in the annual church service, held this year in the Hibbert United Church on Sunday. Curator, Alice Dickens of the local • Institute branch, welcomed the District Curator, Mrs. Arnold (Marg) Harris, of London as well as a faithful member of South Lobo Institute. Rev. Anne' Beattie welcomed a crowd of adults and Sunday school children at the United Church morn- ing service on Sunday. During the children's time, the children enjoyed an action son$. The communion service was con- ducted by the minister who gave the sermon, "Tis do in Remembrance". ', Following this, Rev. Beattie and Mrs. Roy Sutherland sang a duet, Greeting/ at the church door were the Doug Whiteford family. Mrs. Evelyn McNaughton social convener of the Activity Centre. welcomed a number of Leisure clue seniors from Parkhill as well as local people to the Centre on Monday, Yummyy-yum desserts were en- joyed followed by nine tables of pro- gressive euchre at play. Winners were Nita Charlton, Ruth Guest, Ruby McLean, Evelyn O'Neil, Lor- raine Neil and Freida Rollings. Winners at the Happy Gang seniors euchre at the Legion, Wednesday, February 5 were: high, Ellen Collins, Levi White, hone hands, Marg Walker,, Joe Carter, low, Laura Axford, Elmer Walker. The committee of Stewards of the United Church held a successful pan- cake supper recently. At the time of writing, get -well wishes are extended to Miss Margaret Love, Bob Hooper and Elmer Walker who are hospitalized. The Happy Gang seniors enjoyed a nnerdelicious pot luck dim*: at the Legion on Wednesday. Progressive euchre followed with prizes going to Florence and Levi White, Janet Rose, Joe Carter, and Martha Rees, Bob Flynn. Planning a Wedding?
