Alex Turnbull drop bend and
Don Jolly of Exeter, mottling the
Gideon Society, vettfte.ef the
church service on Sutlmorning.
Both spoke an the wait of the Gi-
deons, mentioning their placing of
Bibles in the new correctional centre
for youths in Goderich, as well as
their usual presentations of Bibles
and New Testaments to hotels,
hospitals, grade five students, etc.
In the world, 40 Bibles are given out
every minute. Every dollar that is
donated to the Gideon Society is used
for Bibles and not for any administra-
tion costs which are borne by the Gi-
deon Society members themselves.
Turnbull spoke on the story of Zac-
cheus from Luke 19:1-10, noting that
Zaccheus had a concern about how he
had collected taxes from the people
and knew that he could confess his
sins to the Son of God.

The first meeting of Grand bind
number two 4-11 club was held Mon-
day at the home of Ann Russell, open-
ing with the 4-11 pledge and introduc-
tions of the members and leaders.
We filled out the forms we receiv-
ed. This project is called "Etiquette
for the 80's". Next we were asked
what does etiquette mean to you? And
we responded with, it means to show
good manners, good taste and respect
and consideration for others.
Brenda Love showed us how to in-
troduce someone and how to set a buf-
fet table, then Ann served juice, muf-
fins and cheese in a buffet setting with
members practising etiquette.
We elected the following officers:
PLENTY OF PIE — Ruby Hill (left) and Joyce Stephenson cut some

churches, schools and all the hamlets.
It is also full of pictures and

Three representatives of the boun-
daries committee of Huron -Perth
Presbytery of the United Church met
with the Pastoral Relations commit-
tee and congregations of the Varna -
Goshen charge in Varna on Sunday
evening. The Rev. August Meecham
chaired the meeting. Presbytery
seems concerned about the difficulty
of attracting a good minister to a
charge which has only about 100
families. There are fewer people to
work with, and there isn't really
enough work on the charge to keep a
good minister busy.
If the congregations accept that a
change is needed, there are two op-
tions. A re -alignment of charges in the
area would result in three two-point
charges, with one less minister need-
ed. That option seemed to be less ac-
ceptable to those present. The other
solution is a three-point charge with
one full-time minister and a pulpit
supply who• would be a retired
minister wishing to work part-time
and live in a manse, or a student
minister. The extra minister would
probably rotate among the churches.
It was obvious from the discussions
that Varna and Goshen would not
wish tip be separated, and would
prefer to look first for a good minister
willing to come to this charge. There
has not been a problem in paying the
salary of an experienced minister.
The decisions made 'by surrounding
churches will also have an effect on
any change that might be necessary.
Frank and Betty Thompson won the
high prizes for euchre at the Orange
Lodge card party on Friday night at
the Stanley Complex. Low prizes
were won by Mrs. Hess and Donna
Klopp. Draw prizes went to Nettie
McClinchey, Mrs. Crich, Mrs. Moore,

and Lloyd Huffman. There were ten
tables in play.

PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING PROPOSED AMENDMENTS
TO THE COUNTY OF HURON OFFICIAL PLAN
AFFECTING THE TOWNSHIP OF USBORNE
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Huron will hold a public meeting
on Tuesday, April 1st, 1986 at 1:30 p.m. at the Usborne Township Offices of the Morrison Dom,
to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment under Section 17 of the Planning Act.
Proposed Official Plan Amendment 100 will designate certain lands in the Township as Propos-
ed Site Plan Control Areas. Section 40 of the Planning Act 1983 gives municipalities the authori-
ty to require certain information and enter into certain agreements prior to development oc-
curring on any given site in the municipality. The rationale for this authority is that the residents
of the municipality should not have to subsidize through property taxes, improvements and ser-
vices such as rood widenings, parking facilities, and drainage, which may be required as a direct
result of the development. The proposed Plan Amendment designates all those lands designated
"Extractive Resources", "Natural Environment" and "Urban" on Schedule "B" of the Land Use
Plan, Township of Usborne. In addition, any lands for which there are proposals for Agricultural
Commercial, or Agricultural Industrial or operations within the agricultural designation are also
designated as Proposed Site Plan Control Areas. Within the Urban designation any lands for
which there are proposals for Commercial Industrial, Institutional or Mobile Home Parks may
also be subject to Site Plan Control. In addition, any lands in the municipality for which there
is a proposal for a ready -mix operation or a salvage yard may also be subject to Site Plan Con-
trol. Within the proposed Site Pian Control Areas, Council may pass by -lows designating the
site of any proposed development as a Site Pion Control Area.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representation either
in support of or in opposition to the proposed Official Plan Amendments.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed Official Pion Amendments is available
for inspection at the Clerk's Office, Usborne Township Offices and at the Planning Department,
County of Huron Goderich, during regular business hours.
