Limited help for the Hawks An attempt to get some new blood to help with the Exeter and Area Junior Hawks met with limited suc- cess this week. About 30 people attended a general meeting of the organization, Thurs- day, but president Ken Dobney said most of those are already actively in- volved with local hockey. "We had hoped to get people there who aren't involved as they may have more time," he explained. To that end, each of the 30 people at themeeting was asked to bring five others to the annual meeting which is slated for March 26. The organization is experiencing a major executive turn -over this year as many of those currently serving have been active for some time and are leaving as they no longer have sons playing on the team or have other interests 'they now wish to pursue. People in attendance at Thursday's session included the current ex- ecutive, some team members, and members of the Exeter Minor Hockey Association executive and the Exeter Mohawks executive. The Hawks will be advertising for a coach and manager this week. Dobney noted that the search for peo- ple to fill those positions was left too late last year to get the season off to a good start and that has plagued the team throughout as they have been mired in the loop's basement. "Everyone put forth a good solid ef- fort", commented coach Ron Bogart. "We even scored three goals on backhands (the forgotten art)". Bogart added that while the Hawks have won only Five times this season, they have never given up and have generally been plagued with one or two bad periods in each game. Captain Steve Gould paced the of- fensive show with four goals, all scored in succession in the third period. Brian Quinn added a pair and singles were registered by Scott Bogart, Brent Atthill, Dave Skea, Ian Munroe and George Pratt.
