News from
Revival Centre
Sunday morning Rev. Roger Mason
spoke from Hebrews 12:12-17, en-
couraging Christians not to let adver-
sities cause them to lose out with God.
God will use every adversity to draw
Christians closer to Him, and produce
His character in them.
A despondent spirit and
hopelessness, can cause a Christian
to allow the circumstances to drag
him down. A despondent person is
open to temptation to sin. In verses
12-13 God advises the Christian to ac-
quire strength to actually snap out of
the despondent attitude. Reach out to
God to receive strength.
Bruce Thomson, from Youth With
a Mission, played his guitar as he
taught two new songs written by
YWAM members. Mrs. Carmine join-
ed him in singing Behold the Lamb,
with everyone joining in. Mr. Thom-
son then sang Unworthy am I.
From John 1:19-34, read the witness
of John the Baptist of Jesus being the
Lamb of God who takes away the sin
of the world.
Today we need to behold the Lamb
of God. In the Old Testament a
spotless lamb was needed for the sing
offering for the people. God sent His
Son to be the lamb for all of us.
In spite of His own sinlessness,
Jesus did not condemn. Jesus did not
condemn the woman caught in sin,
but told her not to sin any more. We
need to take Jesus' example in not
condemning others.

Jim Robertson tells
of battle with leukemia
Special speaker at Lucan United
Church Sunday morning was Jim
Robertson who shared with the con-
gregation some of the things God has
been doing in his life during the past
few months while he has been battl-
ing with leukemia. Jim stressed that
it has been a time when God has
revealed Himself as a God of great
mercy, encouraging and strengthen-
ing in the midst of pain.
It has been a time of cleansing,
when "secret sins" have been faced
and forgiven, and;whenaplose rela-
tionship with God through
prayer and
Bible reading has taken over as top
priority. Christ's love for him per-
sonally revealed through the Cross,
has made a new and deep impact. as
well as the realization that by His
death, Christ won the victory over
Satan, and made possible our
release from sin, judgment and
sickness.
Jim gave credit to the love and car-
ing of the fifth floor Nursing and
Medical team at University Hospital,
and also to the many friends who con-
tinue to pray for his healing. Jim con-
clutJed,"I am not a victim of illness
and circumstances, but rather I have
happiness and hope, for Jesus is with
me."
Larry Cruttenden the Scripture por-
tions for the morning and also offered
special prayer before Jim spoke.
Before their regular Junior Con-
gregationtime, Barb Bannerman told
the children about the twins, Cathy
and Cary, who looked and dressed
alike. They learned to think alike too
when Cary followed her sister's lead
in sharing her good things with God's
people.
Ken and Susan Rees, along with
Ryan and Jeremy, acted as welcome
committee for the day. The service
was followed by the monthly Coffee
Hour in the church basement.
