High basketball scores
South Huron District High School
basketball coaches are in for some
pleasant surprises if Saturday's free
throw contest is, any indication of
things to come.
The basketball tossing event for
elementary school students sponsored
by the Exeter -Mount Carmel and
Lucan Councils of the Knights of Col-
umbus produced some surprising
results.
In the boys 12 years division, Steve
Dubarly, a grade seven student at
McCurdy -Huron Hope hit the basket
21 times in 25 attempts.
Striking for 17 baskets each were
Randy Johnson in the boys 11 years
class and Rob Pearen for boys 14

winless streak extended to 18 games
as they dropped three consecutive
contests over the weekend.

ter's home lee the iollowtng night. The
third loss was recorded on Sunday
when the Hawks were doubled up by
Thedord 8-4.
Exeter will have three more con-
tests this weekend and if nothing else,
the locals should be in good shape
physically when their season ends
next month with no playoff hopes.
Seaforth Centenaires will be in Ex-
eter on Friday and the Hawks travel
to Mt. Brydges on Saturday. The next
night they'll host Thamesford.
In Friday's weekend opener against
the Bombers, the Hawks had a
disastrous second period when they
gave up five goals and were out -shot
27-6.
Jason VanHaarlem faced a total of
59 shots in the contest with 50 of those
coming in the first two frames.
Ian Munroe and Andy Lerikos

one assist. Other assists were picked
up by Pfaff, Don Hamilton and Scott
Bogart.

faced 49 shots, while Exeter had only
25.
The Hawks managed to stick with
the Browns for the first period in Sun-
day's contest in Thedford, but the
hosts took a 5-3 lead into the third and
then out -scored Exeter by a 3-1
margin to win.
It was the only game of the three in
which the Hawks were not badly
outplayed. They managed 36 shots,
while Thedford had 42.
Gould scored a pair for the locals
with Skea and Bogart potting the
singles. Pfaff and Munroe had two
assists each with singles being
