Exeter UCW hosts annual
Huron Presbyterial meeting
Exeter United Church Women
hosted the annual meeting of Huron -
Presbyterial, Monday. Over 200
women braved the wintry weather to
attend.
The theme was "What does the
Lord requite of me?", Micah 6:7,8.
Mrs. Muriel Coultes, Wingham,
President, was in charge of the
meeting. Sing -Songs were led by Mrs.
Maxine Sereda with Mrs. Margaret
Coates at the piano.
Mrs. Shirley Smith, St. Thomas,
president of London Conference,
brought information of coming
events. Reports were presented by
Committee Chairpersons and a visit
from "Micah" which answered the
question "What does the Lord require
of me?"
North Huron led the Worship ser-
vice with Mrs. Muriel Coultes recall-
ing her experiences in Mexico and the
faith of the people she met there. Of-
fering was divided between Mission
and Service fund and World Develop-
ment and Relief.
Mrs. Shirley Smith conducted the
election. Rev. Don Pletsch installed
the officers for 1986-87. Mrs. Alma
Langford, Exeter, was installed as
president. She was presented with a
corsage from the Exeter U.C.W. Mrs.
Muriel Coultes was presented with a
Life Membership Certificate and pin.
Mrs. Langford spoke of her hopes
for the U.C.W. in the next two years
under her Leadership.

Holy Communion Service was held
in St. Patrick's Sunday with Rev. P.
Derrick in charge and Cheryl Carroll
provided music. Don Curnningham
was server and Mary Davis read the
first lesson.
Rev. Derrick spoke to the children
on "our bodies" and how each part
depends on the rest of the body and
how that applies in everyday living
and our church life. He carried that
theme into the sermon.
Following the service lunch was
served in the Parish hall then the
children enjoyed slides in the church
with Paul Bedell in charge. The con-
gregation held the Vestry meeting in
the Parish Hall.
Rev. Derrick opened with prayer
with Margaret Carroll, Vestry clerk,
the reports were read and adopted.
Nadine Bedell is to be rectors
Warden, Bob MacGillivray Peoples
Warden. The board of management
was selected.
The new board is Vickey Gee, Hazel
Davis, Marguerite Greenlee, Cheryl
Carroll, Rose Cunningham, Margaret
Carroll, Hugh Davis and Tom Kooy.
There will be no April event this theon Conference in Stratford,
year, but it is hoped many will attend Aprill 14, 15.

Hazel Davis will continue as
treasurer, Paul Bedell as youth
observer, Rev. Derrick made com-
ments on mission study and alter-
native services. A vote of thanks was
extended to all retiring members.

pointed to plan the 125 anniversary of
the church to be held May 25 with
Bishop Robinson, London as guest
speaker.
