Christmas Interviews We went
around the'school yard on Wednesday
and Thursday and interviewed Julia
Brand, who got a Wrinkle Dog, a
watch -and 'a V.C.R.. Nancy Volk got
a Cabbage Patch Kid, clothes and
radio. Kerriann O'Rourke got a Shera
castle, Shera doll and mop top hair
shop. Jeremy Becker got a digital
clock, clothes. His family came to his
house for Christmas. Rob Kramer got
a walkman and a robot. We also talk-
ed to one of the teachers, Mr. Negrijn.
He said his wife was getting tired of
shovelling the driveway so she tried
to get him to do it. He asked for a
snow blower and he got one. He also
got a shirt and a clock radio so he can
get up in the morning.

Primary Play Kindergarten
through grade three put on a play
called A Christmas Doll. The play
was about a girl that wanted to meet
Santa Claus. She got to meet him and
she wanted to be a doll like all the
other dolls. Then she thought about
how she could get home. On the way
home to Crediton, they stopped at
China, Japan, Holland and finally
Crediton and they dropped her. off at
home.

Santa Goes Modern — December
17, the Junior division put on a
Christmas play called Santa Goes
Modern. This play was about Santa
wanting to modernize Christmas. For
example his clothes were modern, a
helicopter to deliver presents, a com=
puter to make all the toys: even
though the elves don't like it. Sudden-
ly Santa gets about 50 bags of mail
from the children saying that they
ilk p.f tpnas-ttie w,ay4rw-Af:S$a+ntays.
helicopter crashes and it ends up he
goes back to his old ways. Some of the
songs were: Santa Wants to Moder-
nize, Here Comes Santa Claus. The
Junior Choir sang Little Brown Eyed
Donkey and Ring Those Bells.

Journey of the Christ Child — The
three shepherds were Jason Fink-
beiner, Brent Love and Scott Hodgins.
The three wise men were Greg
Clarke, Richard Desjardine and John
Paul Maurer. Joseph was Dean Pfaff,
Mary was Julie Hayter, King Caeser
Agusta was Bob Vandeworp, Gabriel
was John Gollen and Narrator was
Terry Hoffman. The Senior Choir
sang Calypso Carol, 0 Come all ye
Faithful, Silent Night, Joy to the
World, Away in a Manger, Angels We
have Heard on High, Stars that
Twinkle and Shine.

Skating — The skating program
begins Wednesday, January 22. Most
students are looking forward to it as
you can see by the stories below. Julia
Brand - likes to do laps around the
rink and often races people. She finds
it quite fun. Jodi Armstrong - likes to
skate around plastic, pylons and has
races with her friends. She finds it is
fun. Shannon Wuerth - likes to play
tie. She also enjoys skating around for
pleasure. Honey Willemson - likes to
do spins and she hardly falls. She en-
joys playing touch tag with her
friends.

Houseleague — This winter there
will be houseleague floorhockey for
girls and boys. There will be six
teams from grades five to eight. It
will be fun. We hope there will be no
injuries. There is also houseleague

Chocolate Day — We had Chocolate
Day December 9. It was at lunch
time. Everyone ate their lunch while
we passed around some chocolate
desserts.

Island of the Blue Dolphins —
Grade six are doing a novel study
called Island of the Blue Dolphons.
We will be doing oral reports and
making a display. It will take us about
six weeks to complete.
We are having a bake sale to
help pay for the movie.

Novel Study — In grade five the
kids are doing a Novel Study. All the
books are mysteries. There are three
groups: The Dragon Children, The
Secret Tunnel, and Samatha's Secret
Room. I'm in group 2. We made
detective hats and we wear them
while we read. We also have a little
question book so we answer a ques-
tion when we are done reading our
chapter. The questions get marked
and then the next day we go to the
back of the classroom and talk about
our chapter.

Among the Seo prize winners in the
Royal Bank Junior Olympics

contest for 1916 were
four are Tara

dines and Michelle Caers.
These winners received as prizes
Royal Bank Junior Olympics hats and
Calculator Accounts". Grand Prize
winners of the contest received in ad-
dition to the above, "Scholarships" in
the form of a 81,000 term deposit
maturing on their 18th birthday.
Although the 1985 drawing Is now
over, the"Scholarship" contest con-
tinues for all participants in the Royal
Bank Junior Olympics which makes
available ribbons and crests for
children's sports and cultural
competitions.

The sympathy of the community is
extended to Mr. and Mrs. Hugo
Theander and family in the sudden
death of Hugo's brother the later Carl
Theander of Zurich. Carl was a
former resident of 'this community
having run a blacksmith shop on Main
street for many years.
The Cadets from Huron Park with
some from Centralia went by bus Fri-
day to Camp Ipperwash where they
spent the weekend.
Neil's School euchre which was to
have been held January 6 had to be
postponed owing, to the bad weather.
The next euchre will be held on Mon-
day, January 20 weather permitting.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bowden were
entertained by. their fancy Saturday
to dinner at the Top of the Fair and
the afternoon at Western Fair
Raceway, London. The occasion was
in celebration of dad's birthday.
Clyde Kooy was a weekend visitor
with his grandparents and Mr. and
Mrs. Larry Estey, Exeter were Sun-
day evening visitors with us.
