Hawks drubbed
Many teams hope the traditional
league all-star break will enable them
the change their fortunes. Unfor-
tunately, it didn't work the Exeter
Hawks this weekend. '
After being drubbed 9-4 by Lucan at
the rec centre, Friday, the Hawks
were on the road to Thamesford
following Saturday night's all-star
game in Lucan and the Trojans
thumped them 9-1, Sunday.
That ran the locals' winless streak
to 14 games, not counting the two they
lost in their annual tournament the
previous weekend.
Exeter will be on the ice for only
one game this week as they host the
'Medford Browns at the rec centre,
Friday.
The Lucan Irish jumped into a 4-1
lead in the first period of Friday's
game and continued to apply constant
pressure as they completely
dominated their hosts. In all, the Irish
peppered 71 shots ate Jeff Laporte,
which may be a record for local
goalies.
In this week's Exeter and District
men's rec hockey league action, the
Exeter Inn edged the Whalers 3-2,
Algoma Tire downed the Outlaws 5-3,
the Young and Restless won 6-2 over
Pfaff Electric and the Colonials down-
ed the Exeter Inn by a 5-3 score.
In the first game, Morley Obre,
Kevin Hern and Tiny Passmore
scored for the Exeter Inn while Dave
Hayter and Ron Johnson replied for
the Whalers.
One goal each from the sticks of

Weido, Gerry Kurtz and Jamie Gaul
paced the Algoma Tire to their win
over the Outlaws. Scoring for the
losers were John Bileke, Mike
Stewart and Ron Ferguson.
The Young and Restless victory
was led by a two goal effort by Mark
Cronyn. Scoring in single fashion
were Perry Knee, Jim Rolph, Scott
Pincombe and Gary Sararas. The

ing cause were Dave Quick, Jerry
