Hawk Ions streak to dozen
The Exeter Hawks ran their cur- nual tournament at the rec centre on

Captain Joel Smoth gained two
assists while Ryan Stuart and Fred
Steciuk each helped setupone score.

The score was knotted 2-2 against
Thamesford in Friday's contest after
one period, but the Trojans then
outscored the Hawks 3-1 in the second
and 5-1 in the third.
The story was much the same the
next night in Lucan. The Irish manag-
ed the only goal of the first, but then
pumped in five in the second and add-
ed three in the third as the Hawks
triggered one in each of the final
stanzas.
Steve Gould fired two in the loss to
Thamesford with Scott Brintnell and
Bill Fisher adding the singles. Jeff
Pfaff had two assists and helping out
on one each were Gould, Don
Hamilton and Scott Bogart.
Jeff Laporte worked between the
pipes and was peppered with 68 shots.
Both teams scored twice on the
powerplay, while the Trojans added
insult to injury by scoring twice while
they were playing a man short.
Brad Muir, Brent Martin and Paul
Barnes paced the Irish to their win,
Saturday, with two goals each.
Singles were recorded by Wayne Urb-
shott, Paul Foran and Jeff Hodgins.
Muir added three assists for a five -
point night and Foran and Hodgins
had two each. Picking up single
assists were Dean Doerr, Barnes,
Martin and Jesse Crawford.
