Should ensure event's future
Burgerfest quietly sucoessful
The lith annual Burgerfest in
Grand Bend over the weekend was
another success. -Although the
weather didn't co-operate fully most
of the events held went smoothly.
The GB Lions dub held their bingo
in the tent on the beach Thursday
evening despite cool weather. It was
reported that there was a much bet-
ter turnout than last year and with
warmer weather another year. it
could be great.
On Saturday morning. the bed
races were held on the main drag.
Sanders on -the -beach won the Molson
cup, running against "Foxy Lady"
and "Mainstreet" bedsters. The
Bluewater girls' team won first place
in their category and the GB O.P.Y.
with flashing light and all had a good
race as well.
With the shorter hours enforced by
council earlier this year, there was no
problems and the Chamber of Com-
merce did very well financially said
Deputy -reeve Harold Green. He said
that as indicated by Sgt. Adams of the
U.Y.P. from this year's crowd, there
should be no problem with future
Burgertests.
The Chamber sponsors such great
events as the Canada Day fireworks,
Sandcastle Day prizes, Farmers
Market in the fall and many more
because of the good revenue from
Burgerfest weekend. See you in '86 for
the 12th event!!!
