Several baptised at Branton service

Granton
At Granton United Church, Rev.
Bruce Pierce was in charge of the
Family Sunday service and entitled
his message "Family and Faith".
What is the religion that we should
give to our children? "Let's start with
the church and the Sunday school".
said the minister, then the at-
mosphere of the home.
Share your religion with your
children and be aware of other
influences.
The following children were baptiz-
ed: Steven George Aldrich, son of
Keith and Susan Aldrich; Courtney
Marie Benner, daughter of Don and
Heather Benner; Scott Harold Rid-
dell, son of Don and Debbie Riddell;
Tyler John Francis Riddell, son of
Wilfred and Gloria Riddell.
Rev. Peter Derrick was in charge
of the morning prayer service at St.
Thomas Anglican church. The
crucifer was John Herbert and the
pianist Lois Herbert. The two lessons
were read by Sylvia Beatson and
Muriel Lewis.
Next Sunday the service at St.
Thomas will be at 11:30 a.m.
UCW meet
Unit V of Granton UCW held their
May meeting at the home, of Mrs.
Malcolm Spence. Mrs. Charles
McRobert presided and opened with a
reading "Flowers for Mother".
Nine members answered the roll
call with their mother's maiden
name. Mrs. Clare Bryan was respon-
sible for the program and told the
story of the faithful journey of Sam
Lee, a Korean who became minister
of a Toronto church -- also a reading
"What makes a Mother's Dav?"
Lunch was served by
hostess.

a few days with his parents and at-
tended the Urquhart - Vanderloo wed-
ding. Saturday.
A service of holy baptism and com-
munion was held at St. Pauls
Anglican Church Sunday morning.
Matthew Grant, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Ron Grant, was baptized. Flowers in
the chancel were placed in loving
memory of Rose and Ada Fletcher,
altar flowers in memory of Muriel
Hall and Ella Urquart.
Mr. and Mrs. Bill Waghorn were
Sunday dinner guests of Mr. and Mrs.
John Elliott and family of Thorndale.
Flowers in the United Church were
placed in loving memory of Mr. Bill
Hamilton.
Shelley Fletcher has accepted a job
in city hall in Toronto for the summer.
