March meting w as held•In the home
of Mrs. Mervin Dow . w ith Mrs Dow
presiding in the absence of the presi-
dent. Mrs. Charles Douglas. She open-
ed the meeting with a little verse. The
Puddle. in which members were
reminded that small things can be
important.
The scripture from Luke 6:26-36
was read in unison. and pointed out
that Love is the keynote of the Chris-
tian. The roll call was answered with
a Biblical verse on Spring.
Mrs. Tom Scutt gave a topic on the
importance of the dedicated in-
dividual or small group. The history
of the Christian ('1 iieh and other
humanitarian movements is tilled
with the names ot ordinary people
who become God's messengers and
accomplished great deeds.
Mrs. Jim Miller continued the study
of Korea and the struggle of Koreans
for human rights. The• Christian
Church has been one of the most
dominant social institutions in Korea
in the struggle for democracy Bracy and
human rights.
On March 1, 1919, a Declaration of
independence was prepared and 15 of
the 33 signatories were Christian in
spite ot the fact that fuser than 2 per-
cent of the total population were
Christian.
The compassion, concern and
courage of the Christians has drawn
many people to the church and today
it is the 'most revolutionary social
and religious force in modern Korea!
An invitation to Thames Road

cepted. It was announced that the
World Day of Prayer offering
amounted to &19.00.
For her special number, Mrs. B.
Stoneman led a helpful discussion on
7 Rules for Christian Living and
Service.
The sacrament of Communion was
celebrated in Cromarty Presbyterian
Church on Sunday afternoon. Rev.
Kenneth Knight was assisted by
elders Jean Carey. Philip James,
John Scott, Paul Miller, Larry Gar-
diner, and Craig Kerslake. Mrs. Ivan
Norris was at the organ for the
service.

Richey. Florida visiting with Mr. and

The April meeting will be held on
the evening of April 9 with roll call
"Your favourite bible lady". Rev. M.
Mellecke took the topic: two leaders
named Gregory. Gregory 1 gave the
church its form of worship; sent mis-
sionaries to Europe and Africa; pro-
vided food for starving people; paid
the ransom for captive Romans and
saved the people from foreign in-
vaders. The second Gregory VII tried
to reform certain church practices
and in the end lost his position in the
church.
Mrs. Nancy Rader had closing
devotions followed by lunch.
Baptism
Melissa .loanne Dawn, infant
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David and
Joanne Stephen was baptized in Zion
Lutheran Church by Rev. M.
Mellecke. Sunday, with sponsors Mr.
and Mrs Bob and Doris Osgood.

The Church in Society group of
Calvary foiled ('hurch was in charge
of the March meeting held at the
Bluewater Rest }tome. An enjoyable
musical program was presented with
Mrs Hugh Boyle chairlady and
pianist for the evening. Mrs. Jim
Weigand opened the program with a
reading "Thank You God for
Everything".
Mrs Barry Stuart sang several
beautiful hymns accompanied by Gail
Shaw. Larry Mason and Stanley Hoist
on their guitars. Jennifer Weigand
played a piano solo
A group consisting of Carol Stuart,
(;ail Shaw. Jack Gaiser. Stanley
Hoist. }tarry Hoffman and Larry
Mason sang several hymns. Some
were old favorites that the residents
and guests thoroughly enjoyed. Mrs.
Ilarold Hendrick presented a reading.

Jesus'' The Mtzpah benediction was
