With the help of Madeline Witmer,
communications secretary, Olive
Hicks, presented her report. They
said that communication is not
always written or oral. Our facial ex-
pressions, shrugs, a tap on the
shoulder all say a lot. Their thoughts
were summed up in the following
poem :
"We tell on ourselves by the friends
we seek,
By the manner in which we speak,
By the way we use our leisure time,
By the use we make of dollar and
dime,
By the kinds of things at which we
laugh,
By the records we play on the
phonograph,
By the books we choose from the
library shelf,
In these ways and more we
communicate self."
