Stanley approves
employee pay hike
Members of Stanley council ap-
proved four percent pay increases for
office staff and roads department per-
sonnel at their regular February
meeting.
The new rates, with the previous
ones in brackets are: clerk Mel
Graham - $23,712 ($22,800 ; assistant
clerk Betty Graham - $11,232
($10,800); road superintendent Bill
Taylor - $11.13 per hour ($10.701:
grader operator Ron Coleman - $9.98
($9.601. Bill Consitt - $9.72 ($9.35):
Mark Taylor - $7.98 ($7.68). A part-
time rate in the roads department
was set at $6 per hour. Helen Taylor's
payment for assisting with the books
increases to $1,486 from $1,426.
For the first time, the township will
pay 50 percent of OHIP fees.
Dog licence fees were also increas-

unspayed female is now $12 ($10),

Hockey, was turned down. Stanley
does not support individual associa-
tions, but provides continued support
to the Clinton recreational program.
An interim payment of $717.50 to the
Clinton fire area board was approv-
ed. The board has not set this year's
budget. Last year Stanley paid 2.87
percent of a total budget of $49,950.
Four grants were approved. Huron
Central Agricultural Society will
receive $50, Ontario March of Dimes
$100, St. John Ambulance $100 and
Blyth Centre of the Arts $100.
Donnelly and Murphy have been re-
tained as township solicitors for 1985,
and sent a retainer fee of $988.
Two tile drainage loans totalling
$6.900 were approved.

in January to review the township's
proposed new zoning bylaw.
PRICE UNCHANGED
Egg producers will be paid the
same for a dozen Grade A large in
March as last month - and that's three
cents less than a year ago - the Cana-
dian Egg Marketing Agency announc-
ed today.
The agency sets the price paid to
producers at the beginning of each
month using a cost of production
formula.
Although feed costs are up, the in-
crease in this part of the pricing for-
mula is offset by a decrease in what
the agency calls "conversion to Grade
A large."
