The call was sudden. the shock severe.
To part with one we loved so dear.
You didn't have time to say farewell.

You were gone before we realized,
And only God knows the reason why.
We think of you in silence.
We often speak your name,
And we always have our memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Our hearts still ache with sadness,
Our silent tears still flow,
For what it meant to lose you, Dad.

You gave me years of happiness
Then came sorrow -and tears.
But you left me beautiful memories

Though tears in my eyes do not always
glisten,
And my face is not always sad,

In my heart you are always there.
For i love you and 1 miss you
As it ends a lonely year.
