in Stratford hospital.
Bernie and Annette Denomme
returned home recently from a
week's trip to Mexico.
Larry Denomme spent last Satur-
day to Thursday in Ottawa due to his
work.
Any girls over 12 years old in-
terested in joining a 4-H group now
being organized by Joan Regier
(236-4289) and Bridget Groot
236-4743) are to contact them soon,
as it begins on February 26. "Ac-
tionwear" is the theme and we'll be
learning how to make jogging clothes.
Debbie Denomme spent the
weekend in Toronto and enjoyed a
relation with some college girlfriends.
Mrs. Marie Gelinas Sr. returned
home on Sunday after spending the
last 10 days in London babysitting two
children for friends Orval and Debra

Parkes, while they went on a cruise.
A pancake supper was held on
Shrove Tuesday by the C.W.L. ladies
of St. Boniface. It was held at the
school followed by their monthly
meeting. The pupils of St. Boniface
had a hake sale and hot dog lunch on
Tuesday to raise money for the
missions.
The youth group of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church held their annual
pancake supper on Shrove Tuesday
for the members of their parish.
A good turn -out was had by the
Mennonite Church on Sunday evening
when speaker, Gordon Erb of RR 2
Zurich spoke on his recent trip to
Ethiopia.
Lou and Delores Schilbe returned
home on Sunday afternoon after a
restful two week vacation in Florida.
Due to bad weather again last Tues-
day, the Sl. Boniface C.W.L. Birthday
party at the Rest Horne had to be
postponed until Fehruary 26 at 7:00
p.m. Everyone welcome.
Cathy. Chris, and Kelly Schenk are
spending two weeks with their grand-
parents Mr. and Mrs. Glen Neeb,
while their mother Bonnie is on vaca-
tion to the sunny south.

Dashwood returned home on Friday
after a two week vacation with
beautiful weather in Palm Springs,
California. They toured several in-
teresting sights, and spent a few days
in Las Vegas. They also visited with
Andrew and Alida Rau.
The lucky winner of a Valentine
draw at Shaw's store for a box of
heart shaped chocolates was Therese
Stark.
Sister Florian returned back home
to the convent this week after making
a spiritual retreat and then spending
a few days with her mother in Wind-
sor who is recuperating from an
injury.
Mozart and Julie Gelinas Jr. at-
tended the funeral of four month old,
Katie Kelly in London on Monday.
Katie was the daughter of Mark and
Cathy Kelly 1 North Bay I and great,
granddaughter of Lucien and Nora
Corriveau, Zurich.
The L.C.W. had a very successful
work-a-thon last week. despite bad
weather. It took a few days to com-
plete the three quilts and 20 com- .
forters. Some will go to the Missions,
and Seminarians and home projects.
On Sunday, February 17, a bus of
senior citizens from Zurich. Grand
Bend, Dashwood and Hensall went to
see the Ice Capades in Kitchener and
had dinner at the Conestoga Inn.
A birthday party was held for
brothers Brian and Matthew
Denomme on Saturday, February 9
with 14 friends attending.
Bill and Ruth Ann Mills of
Palmerston spent Saturday with her
mother, Gertie Fleischauer. They told
all about their exciting trip to Calgary
the previous week, where they attend-
ed a conference for the Special Olym-
pics for the mentally retarded.
Norbart and Marg Wisser of Wind-
sor spent from Sunday to Tuesday in
town visiting with his parents, Tony
and Irene Wisser at the Maple Woods
Apartments, and Marg's sister,June
Fisher and her family. The Wissers
also went to see Marg's mother who
is a patient in the Goderich hospital.
An enjoyable evening was had by
those at the Maple -Woods Apts. on
Wednesday, February 13 when they
had a Valentine and Birthday party.
A sing -song was lead by Beatrice
Rader on the organ and Meda O'Brien
at the piano in the common room. A
short business meeting was held
followed by a few games of euchre
and crokinole.
Lunch was served by Madeline
Gelinas and Jean Burr.
Mrs. Beatrice Rader of the Maple
Woods Apartments is spending a few
days this week with her daughter and
family in Kitchener, and visiting with
her brother who is in tfie hospitaf_—
Zurich Public School
On Monday and Tuesday of this
week, O.P.Y. Constable Marshall
spoke at the Zurich Public School and
presented the "Say No To a Stranger"
program to the students.
On February 19, grades 6, 7, and 8
travelled by bus to J.A.D. McCurdy
Public School to view a musical
presentation by the Tapestry Singers.
On Tuesday, February 26, a "Pad-
dle to the Sea" workshop will he con-
ducted for students in grades 4-6.
There will be no school on Friday,
February 22 due to a P.A. day. But
there will be free skating at the arena
from 1-3:30 p.m.
Welcome back to teacher Miss
Querengesser from her six month
leave of absence, and trip to Australia
and New Zealand_ She is replacing
former teacher Mrs. Doreen Oesch,
who has retired. Steven Revington is
replacing Mrs. Eagleson until April.
