The officers of Elimville united
Church Women were installed recent-
ly during the regular church service.
Rev. Robert Matheson installed the
following officers - Past president -

at Kirkton session

The January meeting of Kirkton
Women's Institute was held on
January 24 at the Kirkton-Woodham
Community Centre. The vice-
president Mrs. Doris Spence opened
the meeting with a reading Weather
Phases. The minutes of the December
meeting were read by the Secretary
Joyce Strahan.
Several thank -you notes were read
and the Ministry of Agriculture and
Food expressed their thanks to the
group for sponsoring 4-H projects.
Members are invited to a dessert
euchre on February 11, at 12:30 p.m.
in the Russeldale Hall.

anyone is interested to teach this,
please leave your name with the ex-
ecutive before the February meeting.
On June 3 there will be a sale of ar-
ticles

Ernland Lee Home. Members please
bring articles to the March meeting
and further detail on this may be ob-
tained from the executive. Kirkton In-
stitute is making a donation to the
Adelaide Hoodless and Water for
Africa.
The meeting was in charge by Bet-
ty Weston and Eva Shamblaw on the
topic Health. Mary Shamblaw read
two selections "Stay at Homer, being
alone" and "A Little Mixed Up."

The ladies of the United Church
Women have been busy quilting this
past month. They held a business
meeting Wednesday afternoon follow-
ing soup and sandwiches served by
the hostess Mrs. Emerson Penhale
and Mrs. Ina Skinner.
President Mrs. Floyd Cooper open-
ed the meeting with a poem "My
Quilting Frames". The roll call was
answered by "Name your favorite
quilt pattern." Mrs. Cooper thanked
Mrs. Philip Johns for her leadership
as president the past two years. Mrs.
John Batten and Mrs. Emerson
Penhale were also thanked for their
work the preceeding years.
Mrs. Jake Hovius brought in
recommendations of the finance com-
mittee. Following a discussion period
prices were set for quilt, meats and
lunches.
Mrs. Larry Lynn reported on the
Huron Perth Presbyterial Annual
meeting held in Wingham United
Church, January 28. Mrs. Howard
Pym, Mrs. Philip Johns and Mrs.
Floyd Cooper also attended this
meeting.
The annual meeting of Elimville
United Church was held Sunday
following a pot luck meal.
Rev. Robert Matheson was ap-
pointed chairperson and Mrs. Floyd
Cooper was appointed secretary. The
reports were read with some discus-
sion following. The nominations for
Board of- Management -were Larry
Taylor returning for his second term
and Brian Pym and Gerald Johns as
new members.
Mrs. Philip Johns and Floyd Cooper
were reappointed to session. Reap-
pointed to the cemetery board was
Floyd Cooper. Mrs. Ruth Skinner will
remain as Mission and Service
Treasurer.
The . United Church Women
representatives to the Board of
Management will be Mrs. Larry Lynn
and Mrs. Jake Hovius. The examiners
for next year will be Mrs. Delmar
Skinner and Mrs. Larry Lynn.
Rev. Matheson reported on a busy
year for the congregation, Sunday
School, choir, session and himself. He
thanked everyone for their support.
Floyd Cooper on behalf of the session
and congregation thanked Rev.
Matheson and Ann for their work in
the past year.
The Observer Every Family Plan
will continue this year.
The U.C.W. will be in charge of the
minister will be at conference. There
will also be a Mission and Service
Sunday this' year.
