Birmingham named acting St. B. principal until end of June
The Huron -Perth Roman Catholic
Separate School board isn't going to
rush out and hire a principal for St.
Boniface Separate School in Zurich.
As of February 1, the school will be
without a principal as Gaeton Blan-
chette has been named as superinten-
dent of education for the board.
At its January 28 meeting, the
board agreed to advertise within the
Huron -Perth system for a principal.
A principal is to be in place no later
than September 1 of this year.
Until that time, the board has nam-
ed Gary Brimingham as acting prin-
cipal at St. Boniface.
Birmingham will also continue his
duties as principal at Mt. Carmel.

How do you readers like the kind of
winter we received over the past 10
days or more? The residents tell me
that's an old fashioned winter. I hope
that's all the winter we get for this
year.
The past week started off very
quietly, because the activity staff got
snow bound, but most of the other
scheduled staff did very well. Some
got to the home by snowmobile or
four-wheel drive vehicle. A thank you
should go to those drivers who made
it possible for the staff to get to work.
We do have a very dedicated staff at
Blue Water Rest Home.
Wednesday was baking day, all
afternoon the residents baked all
kinds of cookies with the assistance
of our adjuvant, Mrs. Cathy Shantz.
I can tell you readers that the aroma
coming out of the craft room is hard
to resist. We all like to go there -and
sample a little.
.A video program was provided for
the residents on Wednesday evening.
1 get the feeling Thursday morning
sing -song is getting better all the
time, as they are practicing for
Easter.
Friday bingo, as always, we had a
full house with refreshments
afterwards.
Sunday chapel service was con-
ducted by Rev. (' Kuepfer of the
Zurich Mennonite church.
Residents and staff would like to ex-
tend a speedy recovery to Mrs.
Elizabeth Lawrence and Mrs. Hilda
Shapton. who are patients at St.
Joseph's Hospital in London. Further.
Residents and staff would like to ex-
tend sincere sympathy to Mrs.
Laurene Corn veau, our secretary and
receptionist. who lost her husband
Napoleon suddenly over the weekend.
