Commended for good deed
Dear Sir,
The purpose of this letter is to bring
to your attention an act of kindness by
two of the citizens of the Town of
Exeter
On Sunday, 9th December 1984, our
chartered bus was on route from 1p-
perwash to Kitchener. As it carne to
a stop in Exeter, the driver noticed a
cloud of steam. the top radiator hose
had split. A Mr. Donald Dearing, of
RR 1 Exeter saw the bus had stopped
and came to ask if he could help.
When told of the problem he prompt-
ly set out to find somebody to help.
After a lot of effort he returned with
Mr. Bill Hooper, of Laidlaw
Transport. Mr. Hooper was unable to
tind a hose to fit, so promptly made
one. and our bus was back on the
road.
All this did not take long and 1 am
sure that both of these men did not
realize the service they had done, but
when you consider they both gave up
their time on a Sunday afternoon to
help people from another city who
they did not know, and in helping, sav-
ed about 30 young people and their
parents in Kitchener, from standing
around in the cold, for the four or so
hours it would have taken to get a pari
out from Kitchener, you will ap-

The county received a letter from
the building fund, head by Rev. ,lin)
Williams of Stratford, at its January

The request has been referred to
the county's executive committee.
Both Perth County ('ouncil and Ox-
ford County ('ouncil have had similar
requests made of them.
The financial requests represents
what the Stratford General Hospital
Building Fund considers Huron's
share of the $17 million project at the
hospital. The hospital plans to replace
its RECTI (Rehabilitated and Extend-
ed ('are Unit' which is the original
Stratford General Hospital.
Huron's share represents 6.8 per
