It was Christmas morning, I was up
way before everyone else and when
I looked out the window.
I couldn't see at least two metres in

sofa and yanked the blanket off of it.
I looked at the tree, it looked dull so
I plugged the lights in and the
brightness filled the room.
Soon everybody woke up and came
down, the first thing Dad did was to
start the wood burning stove.
Mom put Christmas music on and
watched us while we tore the wrapp-

Tommy. How could anyone not want
a 12 year old boy he just could not

window and watched the other

Christmas is near and I still haven't
got anyone to share it with. Just as
Tommy was thinking he heard voices

peaked out and saw a man and
woman coming towards his room.
He looked out the window again.
The grownups walked into the room.
Ile lookedup when he heard the word

On Christmas Tommy had a great

had a good time.
Tommy looked up and said "dad 1

THE TRUE GIFT OF

'By Jennifer Christine Morrison

I was very angry when I came
down stairs in the middle of the night
and found I did not get my most
wanted gift. I really hoped I would get
one of.the teddy bears in the new San-
ta Vill Shop, but as I looked under the
tree there was no teddy bear. I know
I should not be angry but I really

would have got what I wanted.
Then there was a bright light. An
angel from the heavens appeared: "I

my mission is to tell you the true Gift
of Christmas. Aust listen! Your
parents love you and care about you,
but they do not have enough money to
buy you everything you want. They

everything you want but they can't."
"Hey! How do you know about my

"I know everything. Now back to
my mission. Christmas is a time of

learned something. I , have other
places to go. Good -night."

something. From now on I give in-

THE NIGHT BEFORE

By Caleb Kelly
Grade 6 - McGillivray Central
It was the night before winter, when
all twas so nice. Everything was stir-

Theghettp was blasting, the T.V.
. was loud. With all this noise I'd never
• be proud.
So I turned down the ghetto and
turned off the box, but something still
moved just like a fox.
It wasn't a fox but my rabbit out-
side. I tried to catch it but it went to
hide.
I chased it, and chased it all over
the house. I tripped and 'fell after I
stepped on a mouse.
When I got up, the rabbit was no
where insight. I had to find it even if
it took all the night.
I seeked and searched, I searched
and seeked. I heard a noise in the kit-
chen and went and peeked.
I found him at last, he was eating
my food. He didn't have manners, I
thought he was rude.
I watched and watched him until he
fell asleep. I put him in his cage
without even a peep.
I went to the window and with great
surprise, the sun was not up, it did not
rise.
1 looked at the clock which said half
past eight. I knew this would cause a
quite large debate.
I went outside and asked a large
cloud, but it did not hear me, for I was
not loud.
I asked it louder, "Where might the
suit be? It said "It's winter, it comes
later than me."
So later when the sun was about to
peep, I went to bed and fell fast
asleep.
