It was the night before Christmas/
When all through the barn,
Not a creature was stirring
Not even a cow.
The hay was set up
With tender loving care
In hope that Saint Nicholas -
Soon would be there,
Then one pig woke up
And saw to it's right
St. Nick was there alright, alright
With a new bell for cow
And a sugar cube for horse
A ribbon for Pig's tail
St. Nick was back on course
Saying to the cow and the pigs,
"Good night to all, and to all a Good
Night."
CHRISTMAS POEMS

Grade 6 - Zurich P. S.
While chiming bells are ringing
And choir members a singing.
We all joined hands around the tree
And thought of this day in great glee.
A walking down the crystal lane
And holding my big red candy cane.
Carollers are out on this very still
night.
The whole silent town is in wondrous
delight.
Christmas mistletoe hangs up high
Little boys kissing girls as they walk
by.
The turkeys are cooking and almost
ready to eat
This Christmas to me is going to be
neat.

Merry Christmas I heard him say.
and up the chimney he went
And I knew my year of behaving

He lives in a land f snow and ice.
He's the one who causes little

Santa Claus comes only once a year
But leaves everybody in good cheer!
What Christmas Means
by Greg Cregan
Grade 4, E.P.S.
Christmas is a time when people
give hnd receive gifts from one
another. It's also a time fpr your fami-
ly to spend Christmas day together to
remember the Christ Child and pray
at a big table full of good things to eat.
Christmas is a thrill for those little
boys and girls because a little old man
comes and gives each good little boy
and girl a present. His name is Santa
Claus. That's what Christmas means
to me.
Children were playing in the snow
and breaking ice. But one girl was hot
allowed to play with them and she
was cryirkumtil the guy said,"What
is wrong?
So she told him. She asked him
what his name was and he thought of
a name very quickly and said Santa.
She asked for his last name. He did .
the same and said Claus. She jumped
and said,"The one that gives out
presents, the one I have dreaming of
all my life?"
He said,"I-I, of course." So she told
him what she wanted. On Christmas
Eve he had 10 elves and reindeer
could fly. I don't know how they
managed that but I have to say bye.
A CHRISTMAS STORY

Last year's Christmas was one to
remember. I was hanging my stock-
ing because Santa was going to come.
I was in nice cozy pyjamas.
Our Christmas tree was up'and it
had red lights and red bows with that
silver stuff on it. We already had
some presents under the tree. Final-
ly it was time to go to bed. After mom
tucked us in I went fast asleep. Jodi
wake up, wake up.
It was my, brother. So I went
downstairs with him and the tree was
full with presents. Then I ran to my
stocking and pulled out toys. You see
when we celebrate Christmas we
have guests and a big meal then we
all go into the room toppen presents.
That Christmas was the very best. 1
will never forget it.
