FASHIOFIS FOR HER
375 Main St., Exeter 235-2460
Rudolph exist. or was he iust made up
for that song'' You guys never stick
around long enough on Christmas Eve
for me to get to know you. And you
move so fast I don't have time to
count to see it there's eight or nine of
you:
I figure y-ou guys are the unsung
heroes of -Christmas. 'Except for
Rudolph. he's sung. of course 1 . But
the rest of you sure don't get credit for
all the work you do -- if it wasn't for
you it would be a pretty. awful
Christmas. Santa just wouldn't be
able to get around fast enough without
the reindeer. I doubt if he could even
make the trip with a helicopter or a
flying snowmobile.
Nobody gives you guys any credit.
and 1 bet you have your problems.
too. Like, do the elves bug you' The
reason I'm asking is because i now
have a little elf -like creature around
the house. and sometimes she really
hugs me. Do.the elves climb on backs.
pull your ears and try to stick toys up
}-our nose'' That's the sort of thing I
put up with from this little munchkin.
And how about .all the shots you'd
need for the travelling you have to do''
I bet people don't think about• that.
Well. I can appreciate it. because I
just -had all my .shots -- rabies.
'distemper. that sort of thing -- as if i
would even have a bad temper. Say.
nave you fellows had your rabies
shots'' You might need them around
here if .you come down from the roof
tops.
Well. enough of the chitchat. let's
get down to the real purpose of my let-
ter. In the past I've written to Santa
and I feel my letters have generally
been ignored. Maybe Santa doesn't
read letters from dogs. I thought you'
guys. being fellow animals. might put
in a good word for me.
But when I sat down to type -up my
Christmas list, I couldn't think of
anything to put on- it -- after all. I've
got new siding on my doghouse. a
warm blhnket on the dining room
floor. and the occasional ham bone.
What more could i want?
So I thought about what 1 mention-
ed earlier in my letter. Do you think
Santa could bring a cure for rabies for
Christmas'' That would be nice for all
us dogs who have to get shots every
year. and it would be really nice for
the skunk and raccoon who live in my
neighbourhood. Maybe you could also
ask Santa. to find good homes for all
those dogs in the pound -- that would
• be about the best Christmas gift you
'could give a dog..
Just one more thing -- if there's any '
room left in the sleigh after Santa gets
m. maybe you could ask the elves to
toss in a couple of balls for me. i en-
joy a good game of fetch, and could
always use a new ball.
I'm looking forward to seeing you
guys on Christmas eve. -Let me know
what time you're coming and I pro •
-
mise not to bark. I'll even try to get
a little hay up on the roof for you.
Stick around for a few minutes and
we'll get acquainted. 1 just want you
to know'that i for one appreciate what
you're doing. have a good trip. don't
drink and drive. .
Love. •
