crew set off to deliver all sorts of toys
and the elves chattered away like lit-

Zurich Public School

On December a. students from
Kindergarten to grade four went to
Exeter Public School to see
"Christmas For Carol". It was about
a•girl who thought Christmas was just
presents until she ran away from
home on Christmas eve. She ended up
in Christmas forest where the
animals taught her the true meaning .
of Christmas. We really enjoyed the
show.
One of Santa's elves came and
dropped off Santa's mail box for our
letters to Santa. -
On December 17. the Theatre Arts
class from South Huron District Higt
School presented three short plays
These plays were written anc
directed by the students. Each o1
these plays had a special Christmas
theme. Ecole St. Marie and St.
Boniface students also'attended this
performance: Everyone enjoyed thi<
terrific performance.
Grade t and 2
The primary. junior .and senior
choirs have practiced very hard for -
the Christmas Assembly at the Men-
nonite Church.
Grade one and two presented the .
"First Christmas" story: The
students acted out the parts of Mary.
Joseph. angels and shepherds.
The primary choir- sang "The
Friendly Beasts": "Little Lamb" and
"The Cat and911ouse Carol"
The junior and senior choirs sang
different numbers also.

Last Hot Dog sale all the classes in
the school dressed up for "Roots
Day". Quite a few students and

teachers dressed up as their
ancestors would have. It was fun
guessing what our classmates were'
dressed up as.
Grades three and four were making
recipe books for Christmas. Each of
us brought in a recipe. We made our
own recipe book with all ourfavorite
recipes in it. We hope our morns try
all our yummy recipes for Christmas.
Grade5.6 •
The studentsof grade live and six
are working hard to finish their
Ethanal. pig farm, turkey farm. and
dairy farm projects that they made
following environriient week.•

Grade x
On December 1 the boys went to
McCurdy and the girls went to Exeter
to play volleyball. The boys and the
girls both came fourth. Their day was
very exciting.
During the first week of December
the grade seven and eight students
"went to several places in town and
painted windows to help make the
town look colourful and festive for the
holiday season.
The grade eight students have pen
palsin the Northwest Territories. We
exchange letters with grade eight and
nine classes from Chief Julieus
School. We find their letters very in-
teresting at their life style is quite dif-
ferent from ours. We hope to video
tape a presentation on Zurich fore
them in the New Year.
On Thugday. we had a film which
vas a present from the staff. On Fri-
day we had a Christmas dinner in the
gym at 12 noon.
All students and staff contributed
towards oar holiday meal that was
prepared by volunteers and our
parents. Thanks moms.

Midnight Mass will tie held at St.
Boniface Church on Christmas Eve.
A Christmas Eve candle light ser
vice . will take place at the United
Church on December 24 at 7:30 p.m.
The children's program at the
Lutheran Church will begin at•7:30
p.m. on December 24.
Members of the Mennonite Church
got in the spirit of Christmas on Sun-
day. December 22 when they went
around town • singing carols in the
'venine • -
Lady bowlers
On illonday the ladies bowling
Teague held their annual Christmas
night out with the spares taking part
Each team had a hidden score for a
ludo' prize. The tickets were also
drawn and fist prize went to Coby Van
de Boomen. Zurich. 2nd prize Mel
(toper. of 4eaforth and 3rd prize went
to Bill Shade, Dashwood.
Thanks to everyone who bought
tickets to help our league out- Also a •
special thank you to proprietors Tony
and Marlene Bedard for the -delicious
treats.
A lovely staff Christmas Party and
supper was. enjoyed 'by all of us at
Hessenland on Tuesday evening.

O'Brien. son of Roger and •Denise.
who is a patient in the Children's Uriit
at Westminister Hospital in London
due to a serious burn.
St. Boniface Concert •
There was a good turn out at St.
Boniface school on Thursday evening
to see the Christmas concert from the
kindergarten to 5 pupils which was
really cute- All the children enjoyed
a skating party at the arena on
Friday.
The K. of C. of Seaforth council held
their" annual Christmas party and
Ladies night on Thursday in St. Col-
umbian with a dance and delicious
meal.
The children of the public school_
held their Christmas assembly at the
-Mennonite fellowship hall on Thurs-
day morning. December 19.
HighSchool
Several high school student in the
Theatre Arts m of
entertained the pupils at the Zurich
Public School. along with some
grades of St. Boniface and Ecole St -
Marie last Tuesday morning to three
really good plays. one entitled.
-Pinocchio- was. done by Beth
Sweeney- The second play was about
"Cabbage Patch Fids" and the third
was a "Snow Child".
The students travelled around to
nine different schools in the area. dur-
ing two performances in a day.
Best wishes for a speedy recovery

Itegier Jr. who is a patient at
Westminster Hospital. London and to
Mrs. Ruby Neeb in Exeter Hospital

The children of the Saturday \lor-
ning youth Bowling teauge enjoyed a
special Christmas party on December
21. They only bowled one gamer in-
stead of the' usual two. then were
treated to hot dogs, chocolate milk
and alt -kinds of sweets for dessert.
The lunch was brought in by all the
kids and everycne had a good time.
Sandra -and Ron D ickert attended
the- wedding of . his cousin in
Woodstock on Saturday.
Saturday was a nice day for the
Santa Claus parade with just the right -
amount of fresh. soft snow. The
Christmas music playing from the
Lutheran Church Sounded very nice
also.•Afterwards the children enjoyed
the annual treats, movies and candy
bags given out by Santa on behalf of
the Lions Club.

Ted and Jean Geoffrey's family had
their noon meal at the hotel on Satur-
day then spent the evening at the town
-hall.

On Tuesday afternoon. the children
of Precious Blood School.. Exeter.
entertained the residents with
Christmas carols and made each one
a Christmas card. St Boniface choir
visited on Tuesday evening. presen-
ting their message in song. which was
very much enjoyed.
The Zurich Cub Pack visited the
Home on Wednesday evening. visiting
with the residents and twinging each
one a treat.
On Thursday afternoon. the Conser-
vative Mennonite School children
came to sing Christmas ('arts for the
