Host Trojans, Friday
Hawks continue
The Exeter Hawks continued to lose
ground against their nearest com-
petitors in the southern division as
they lost games to both those squads
• over the weekend.
Friday night in Thamesford, the
Hawks were bombed 14-7 by the Tro-
jans and Sunday they suffered a 5-2
loss in Thedford:
' . The locals have two games this
week before hosting their annual tour- -
nament on January 3-4-5. Friday
night. the Trojans will be here for a
game and then on Saturday, the
Hawks travel to Lucan,
In Thamesford, Friday, the Trojans
and Hawks forgot. about defence and
put on an offensive display in which
they recorded 21 goals.
Thamesford took a 4-2 lead in the
first and were never seriously
threatened as they scored twice for
every time Exeter hit the -mark.
'The Hawks had only 11 skaters and
Steve Gould paced the attack with a
two -goal' performance. Single

and Scott Brintnell.
Brintnell helped set up three of the
goals, while Jeff Pfaff and Gould had
two assists each. Helping out on single
tallies were George Pratt -and Bogart.
Jason Vanllaarlem was the victim
of the Thamesford shoot-out, although
he still managed to record 47 saves.
Sunday afternoon, the two bottom
squads faced off in Thedford and the
Hawks managed to -stick with the
Browns throughout most of the
contest.
After a 1-1 first period, the Browns
scored two unanswered tallies in the
middle frame Lo get the lead they
never relinquished.
Steve Gould fired both Exeter goals
with Scott Brintnell ;helping on the
first and Brian Quinn drawing the
assist on the other. Ijoth goals came
on the powerplay, while the Browns
scored three times with a man
advantage.
Jeff Laporte was between the pipes
and had :38 saves, while Handy
Thompson had 35 Tor Thedford.

Mohawks split home contes*s
The Exeter Mohawks gained a 10-8
victory over the Palmerston 81's and
Sunday nightewere on the short end
of a 5-2 score to the league leading
Elora Rocks. •
Both OHA Intermediate "C" Cen-
tral league games were played at the
South Huron Rec centre. The
Mohawks are in second place. one
point back of the Rocks.
Sunday night at 7:30 p.m. the
Mohawks will be at home to the Ar-
thur Tigers,
Goalie plats well
Despite the high scoring. Exeter
goalie Rick Pikul turned in a stong ef-
fort. He stopped three clean cut
breakaways and thwarted a
Palmerston penalty shot late in the
'game.
The first period was eneb with each
team scoring three times. • •
Bill Glover started the Exeter scor-
ing on a three-way effort with Cam
Doig and Jim Benn assisting. Next it
was Benn hitting the net on passes
from Glover and Doig. Dale Gibbops
notched the third goal on passes from
Mike Clark and Pete Tuckey.
In the second period, Tuckey
registered ori an unassisted effort.
Doug Latta converted a pass.jrom
Randy Kraul and Cam Doig com-
pleted a three-way passing play with
Latta and Jim Benn.
Doug Latta fired two successful
shots -in the first 20 minutes of play.
Getting assists •were Handy Kraul.
Cam Doig. Dale Gibbons and Mike
_Clark.
The other, two markers were shot
by Gibbons on a pass from Pete
Tuckey and Brian Horner on passes -
from Doug Latta and Barry
Baynham. -
Lose in diddle Frame •
Four goals -by the Elora Rocks in
a space of eight minutes in the second
period proved the downfall of the
Mohawks Sunday night.
After a scoreless first period, the
Mohawks moved in fromt at 5:07 of
the second session when Bill Glover
scored on passes from Jim Benn and
Randy Kraut with Elora playing two
men short.

ATTENTION ALL SNOWMOBILERS
The Pineridge Snowmobile Club Inc. is proud to an-
nounce that they have joined the Ontario Federation
of Snowmobile Clubs Trail Funding Program.
THE O.F.S.C. is a non profit group of over 235 snowmobile clubs who
hove been working for better snowmobiting for 16 years. The organiza-
tion has 16 directors. All work is volunteer and at present there are
no full time employees. The construction, mointenonce and signing
of all the trails are the result of work by the O.F.S.C. and member clubs.
ONE OF THE O.F.S.C. OBJECTIVES is to provide a province wide
snowmobile trail system open to all qualified snowmobilers, to im-
prove safety standards and to eliminate instances of tresposs.
THE O.F.S.C. by request of its clubs has created a trail fund. There
is no funding by the Ontario Government. This means that the
snowmobilers must fund and administer their own activity.
THE O.F.S.C. clubs who sigh the agreement for trail funds. build and
maintain the troils.
TRAIL PERMITS are required so.you may travel on ony O.F.S.C. par-
ticipating club troil. You may purchase these from ony porticipoting
O.F.S.C. club, snowmobile dealers. or designated tourist and resort
outlets. If you belong -to o participating O.F.S.C. club, the cost is 510.00
per snowmobile per season. and must be purchased from your own
club. If you do not belong to a participating 0. F.S.C. dub • $25.00
per snowmobile per seoson •
Riding without a Trail Permit may constitute trespass.
The funds are generated by the snowmobiter, for the snowmobiler.
and is administrated by snowmobilers. The more trail permits sold the
befter the trails.
